Hi,

I have the latest stable GrapheneOS for Pixel 4a and I can't connect to my home wifi broadcasted by my Rasperry Pi. Other computers at my home can connect to this wifi without problems and before the last update I could connect my Pixel 4a without problems. What could be the cause?

Any suggestions welcome.

Thank you.

Arnauld GrapheneOS uses per connection MAC randomisation. If your DHCP IP table is full and doesn't auto flush you will find that GrapheneOS may not be able to connect.
Clear your router and see if this resolves.

    14 days later

I am coming back because I still can't resolve my issue. I can't connect to my router 1 though I can connect to another router (2) at my home. What is strange is that I have two raspberry PiS that can connect to router 1 and a smartwatch that can connect to router 1, but my GrapheneOS phone can't. I successfully connected a few days ago but now not anymore.

    Any suggestions highly welcomed.

Arnauld My GOS phone cannot connect to the wifi network at my work office. The only way the wifi connection works is when I turn off Private DNS mode. I don't imagine that's the fix here, but thought I would share.

moogway Thank you. I bought a very cheap wireless repeater that connected successfully to router 1 and could successfully connect my GrapheneOS phone to that wireless repeater... However I still don't understand why I can't connect directly to my router, I will investigate when I have time.

The router services that may be affected by MAC address randomization include:

        • Mac filtering: the allow/block list
        • DHCP: the reservation of IP addresses
        • Traffic control
        • Safe Access: users profiles
        • Threat Prevention: the exception list for packet filtering

What you could do specifically for that router/connection in your home is:

SETTINGS>NETWORK AND INTERNET>INTERNET>SELECT THE COG FOR YOUR WIFI NETWORK>PRIVACY

Change the MAC Randomisation to Per Network from Per Connection and if that doesn't work select Use Device MAC this should resolve your issue while still leaving you protected for other networks.
