Good afternoon, did anyone else have the Google voice typing go away a week or so ago? I use SwiftKey keyboard, and when I try to voice type, a message telling me I need to download Google Voice search. When I tell it to download, it takes me to the Google app page on Play Store, showing it's already downloaded.

Intrestingly, I can get voice typing to work on Gboard. But the regular voice typing through the keyboard, and also the built in microphone in Google Maps also doesn't work.

Any help in getting this back going is greatly appreciated.

Commenting to help let someone see it. Please help and thank you

bischbubba thank you for this. I am still holding out hope I can get the Google voice typing to start working again. The Gboard keyboard is pretty good but the SwiftKey is superior. I'm switching back & forth depending on whether I want to type or voice type. It's not a massive deal but not ideal.

I just wonder what happened now about a month ago to make it so the Google voice typing stopped working.

Or us there a way to get that Gboard framework to work as a voice typer on a different keyboard? As it sits, there aren't any voice typing options to choose

bischbubba wonderful! I discovered downloading the app "speech services by Google" restored the functionality immediately. Now I can voice type directly from the SwiftKey voice typing button and don't have to switch back and forth.

bischbubba and I have found that if you leave it as is, it makes it where if you pause for even a very short time, the voice typing goes off and if you have more voice typing to do, you have to push the voice typing button again. If you go to system- languages and input-on screen keyboard, and you toggle the Google Voice typing to on, then it will have a different format where it will stay on if you pause and think for a few seconds. Another really awesome advance
