Hi All... I have installed GOS on 17 Pixels in the last nine months since I discovered GOS in Dec 2022 :) One 6Pro, one 7a, six 7 Pros and nine of the Pixel 7. My personal phone is a 7 Pro and my wife chose the smaller 7, which we both have been very happy with.

My genuine question is: has anyone noticed if a particular model has been more problematic?

The reason I ask is that I often get asked this when talking to others about GOS. And in all honesty (no offence intended to anyone) I feel like the 6a seems to suffer more issues, as when I see a "problem" post in the forum and click on it, it seems to me its more often a 6a than other models. I don't want to suggest the 6a if it's going to give them more challenges.

Any comments... ?

Thanks

When installing GrapheneOS on a Pixel 6a, OEM unlocking won't work with the version of the stock OS from the factory. You need to update it to the June 2022 release or later via an over-the-air update. After you've updated it, you'll also need to factory reset the device to fix OEM unlocking. That's the only "negative" thing that I can think of when it comes to the Pixel 6a.

I've used GrapheneOS on a Pixel 4a, 5a, 6a and I'm currently daily driving it on a 7 Pro. The 4a and 5a were, by far, my favorite in terms of the device design and the 7 Pro in terms of hardware.

My Pixel 6a has been rock solid and pretty much my favorite of the Pixels I've owned or currently own, which are the P6a, P6, P7.

        Installed on P6s, P6as and a P7a. No issues.

The only quirk I encountered is that updates for apps come at very different times. (Has to do with regional versions).

I have been happy with my Pixel 5, but it is close to its EOL.

My 6a work very well and happy with it. I prefer the smaller size, and the 7a is to heavy.
But they are some exceptions battery and the fingerprint sensor. Google made a very bad choice with this optic sensor. (Maybe for cost reason or to take user picture ?! 😎)
And sometimes some screen are frozen. But the battery issue is maybe due to my multiple profiles usage. And sensor was a problem for P6 also. I suspect this to happen also in 7 and 7a if the same technology.
Some rumors said the 8a will be dropped.
