Esim and secondary profile

Hi folks,

I understand that the esim function needs Google play to be installed to work. So, for this pupose i created a profile called esim activation with this dirty google play installed. But to my surprise the esim toggle is only available on my main profile. As there is no way i will install gplay there, is there a way to make the toggle appear on my secondary profile or will i have to give up on the esim?

mrnike Google Play Services has to be installed in the owner profile to enable privileged eSIM management.

Once the eSIM is installed, you can uninstall Google Play Services from your owner profile, and the eSIM will continue to work.

Thanks for your quick reply.
For privacy reasons, i would like to know wether:

1) the phone has to be connected to the internet for the sim activation?

2) there is any risk that google collects datas during this process?

Finally, i don't have any network options on my secondary profiles. Just internet. How can i activate those options in order to use the esim there ?

The IMEI of your device is exposed to Google as confirmed by the link that @[deleted] provided.

Network settings apply globally across all profiles, and many of them can be only controlled from the owner profile. Any changes you make in the Network settings in the owner profile, will apply also to your secondary user profile, including the eSIM.

Finally, i would like to clarify one more point.
When using multiple profiles, there is a toggle called something like "Activate calls and SMS". If set to on, it will display a warning: "the call and SMS history will be shared with that user". So, in order to be able to use the mobile data of my esim provider (silent.link) on that profile, is it mandatory to set the toggle to on ? That profile was created especially to install whatsapp, in order to avoid to share with them my adress book. So, would it be a way to disable that sharing ?

No it is not mandatory. You can still use mobile data in the secondary user profile, even with the allow phone calls and SMS toggle switched off.

You don't need to create a separate user profile for WhatsApp to achieve this. GrapheneOS has the Contact Scopes feature which allows users to share only select contacts with an app (like the Storage Scopes feature for files). See https://grapheneos.org/features#contact-scopes for more details.

Hi folks, some more questions popped up:

has Privileged eSIM management (gplay) to be turned on everytime i 1) enable/disable
esim and sim cards? 2) change their assigment (Data, calls and SMS)?
can i use my main sim card for voice and data on my owner profile and my esim for data on my secondary profiles ? If yes, can i set it up once for good, or will i have to assign the esim to data every time before i switch to my secondaries profiles?
