Poor cellular service after update

Anyone else have poor cellular reception after last few updates ?
I constantly keep getting notification of no service in places I've never had a problem.
Seems after the late June update it happened tried the update released yesterday and it didnt fix it .
Reset network settings and booted into safe mode none of witch helped . I tried putting Sim in another phone running same update and wasn't much improvement.
I'm curious if there's anything else to try ?
How wide spread is this issue ?
My last ditch effort is to get a new Sim but I don't have much hope .
I don't believe this is a grapheneos issue more of a google issue .

Skyway I can't say that I've ever experienced this. I'd be interested in any solutions, though, in case this is to ever happen to me.

There was a radio firmware update in June, so this is definitely possible.

I did check the bug tracker for google and there was one reported bug relating to this after the last update and it was assigned so that's hopefully good.
I just switch Sim to my other device (p6p) while I'm in the area that gives me the most trouble and although the signal is weak it's not constantly loosing service .

Just an update , I factory reset the phone but unfortunately it did not fix the issue. My p6p has service when the p6 doesn't . guess just wait on google

Another update , I flashed back to stock android .
Tried January February march and may images as well as the android 14 beta image with no improvement in signal strength.
I'm at a loss , thinking it's a hardware issue.

Keep in mind that there are physical differences between the P6 and P6P, which could account for the improved signal on the pro.

csis01 I'm sure different antenna or chip . was using the p6 for 6 months before I started having issues .
Finally tried a new sim and that didn't help any, was a last ditch effort.
Very frustrating.

I'm curious is the radio can't be downgraded even though I'm installing previous images .

Skyway Interested to know, too. P7P, and I noticed that I got heavier battery usage since about the June updates -- that is, overnight from 100% to 70%-60% in about 7-8 hours of non-usage. Rolling back to an older build did not help, as well as going back to stock. I'm wondering if a radio update reneder it less efficient, thus causing the greater energy consumption.

PS_Alex I use a Pixel 7 Pro as well and have not encountered what you're experiencing. I'm an app minimalist and my battery barely depletes during the night while I sleep. Do you have anything that is always running in the background? I'd check Battery Manager and usage.

Using 5G is likely to result in heavier battery usage. If that is of concern, you could switch to 4G preferred in Network & Internet Settings.

I went in Phone information (*#*#4636#*#*), and I set prefered network type to LTE only.
When I turn off Mobile radio power, then flip it on again, I get great signal strenght (-92 dBm) for a couple of minutes (if I'm lucky, about 2-3 minutes; less lucky, less than a minute), then the signal drops to -107 dBm, -109 dBm, -110 dBm.

As a test, I left my device on airplane mode last night. 8 hours later, still 100% charged. Now, of course a phone on airplane mode isn't that useful, but at least I know that it's able to go to doze mode.

PS_Alex I went in Phone information (##4636##), and I set prefered network type to LTE only.

It's easier to set LTE preferred mode or LTE only mode from Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > Preferred network type.

PS_Alex it didn't help my issues , but I've been going through setting one line at a time. Worth a shot to try .
There was a post somewhere on the internet that mentioned the battery drain issues that has plagued pixels is related to mobile data usage .
And a setting that is only available to stock android may fix it. (adaptive connectivity)

Just an update , seems there was a hardware issue.
Didn't think I was still under warranty but I was , sent it into google and they repaired it, got it back yesterday. Today my problem areas are gone , no service issues .
