Is there a privacy or security risk to allowing notifications from the Google Play Store? I always have a VPN running, unless I need to turn it off to make a WiFi Call.......

Also, you might not be aware, but WiFi calling is not routed through the VPN tunnel.

I was thinking I may receive calls and send/recieve texts from SuSudo, but only make calls from the silent circle app. Would that be more secure?

d9780 I might be wrong, but I was under the impression that Mysudo was a VoiP provider rather than a typical mobile carrier. I believe that VoiP can be routed over your VPN.

WiFi calling is something different. It requires a SIM (eSIM or physical), and it routes your phone call over internet via your WiFi to another cell tower if you don't have mobile reception available. It is this WiFi calling which can't be routed over VPN, since your SIM needs to be used to authenticate your device to the mobile network.

d9780 If you're looking for end-to-end encrypted calls, Signal is still the gold standard, and what I'd personally recommend. You can always use your VoIP number to create your Signal account.

I surely agree. It's getting everyone on board with signal that's the problem. Mysudo is of course not e to e if you call outside the app but it offers more flexibility. It's nice to keep a profile on a constant rotating burn and replace cycle.....
