While trying to run the CLI install when running the SH. script i get: 'fastboot too old; please download the latest version at https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools.html'

im on debian 11 bullseye, i upgraded all my packages and according to synaptic iam on the latest version. my version is: 1:10.0.0+r36-7 and according to synaptic the latest is 1:10.0.0+r36-7.

How can i fix this without tinkering with the sh file.

i cant use the webinstaller either because i get error: undefined when trying to download the image from webinstaller page. i have enough storage etc.

It seems like a strange issue, anything i can do with this?

gufum Distribution packages of Android tools often lag far behind Google's version, so being "up to date" as far as Debian is concerned may not be enough. You may need to download from Google as directed.

Hello, I'm having the same error using Ubuntu 24.04 with brave web browser onto a pixel 6a.

I have the latest version of the android platform tools. When entering the command to update I get a message saying I already have the latest version.

Also learning as I go though, what can I do from here? Bootloader is unlocked, images downloaded but this same error comes up when I attempt to flash.

Db00m Have you tried disabling Brave's shields?

If you are installing via the command line, have you tried setting up the standalone tools?

It sounds like the installed version was installed using the Ubuntu package manager, and it is too old to use. Setting up the standalone tools should fix the issue, but shouldn't be needed for installing via the web browser.

Make sure your browser is not a Flatpak or Snap package.
