Screen replacement fingerprint sensor not working

someone will obviously land on this page googling for sensor recalibration after the screen replacement on pixel 6 pro
it did not work for the first time, however i tried a second time just in case and it worked. you need to enable usb debug and you need to boot device into fastboot using key combination.

I've run into a wall with my Pixel 7.
Managed to get the phone connected to pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/udfps. The tool successfully downloaded to the phone and then fails to install... Clicking the Retry button doesn't work.
Has anyone experienced this yet?

I was reading @geme posts more closely and looks like the same issue. I think I've followed all those steps but still won't install.

Developer Mode & USB Debugging are on
Using Chrome/Windows 10
USB drivers installed
Entered Fastboot manually
I'm in Fastboot. I should clarify on this one though. Had confusion on this at first. The first screen that comes up after holding Power/Down displays the red triangle and says Fastboot Mode. I was unable to connect to the phone at this point. So entered Recovery Mode and found in that menu, "Enter Fastboot". This brought up GrapheneOS Fastboot. At this point the Google tool was finally able to connect, download and then failed to install.

I recalibrated my Google Pixel 6 Pro fingerprint sensor with these steps,

Use USB-C to USB-C cable on Windows 11 with Google Chrome browser
Install the specific Google USB driver (was already installed?)
I enabled USB-debugging (under the developer options)
Power off the device, and plug it into the computer
Power the phone on into "Fastboot" mode, with the buttons (You'll see the welcome screen with a red triangle)
Open Google Chrome to the Pixel Repair page (https://pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/carri...) and select "Install fingerprint calibration software"
Select the phone from the dropdown, and then select the blue button to do the actual installation
Honestly it took a split second before it had gone through every step, and was done, then the phone automatically rebooted.
Once rebooted, I had to go and delete my old fingerprints.
I rebooted the phone again, and then readded my fingerprints, and it all just worked.

It all worked in 1 attempt

lefthandrev I was in the exact same situation. Managed to get back to a working OS by plugging the phone to the Pixel Repair website while in rescue mode, plugging it in for troubleshooting, getting frustrated with the process and unplugging it forcefully. The Rescue mode screen shouted "error" then the phone rebooted and started normally. Weird, I know but if it helps anybody !

One quick question though, how do you mount the system drive while in fastboot? Just in case I find myself in a similar situation again.

As for the fingerprint, I followed gdizzle tutorial and it worked without a hitch.

I followed these steps for my Pixel 8 Pro, it failed multiple times with a bunch of different variations. Ended up killing my OS somehow. It only boots to the dead Android "No Command" screen now.

lefthandrev That sounds like the recovery screen. Try holding the lock button, then push the volume up button. You may see a menu there with options to restart.

I was able to fix it and came back up update the thread. I had to go to Fastboot from Recovery screen, mount the system drive, reboot, and it recovered.

I've been futzing with phones since the first Droid came out. This didn't make sense, but it did the trick.

In any case, I cannot get my biometric sensor to work again, sadly.
