For a while there were rumors about a “deal” with an unnamed party, to offer a commercially available phone with Graphene as its “native” OS.

Did this deal fizzle out, or is it still a possibility?

What you're likely referring to, which was a potential deal with an OEM, it fell through.

GrapheneOS is always open to collaborating like that provided that the OEM is willing to put in the work to create a device that meets the project's standards, but there's nothing to announce at this time.
