poplectic OfflinePuffin No. Only supports contactless payments on Huawei phones I believe. Fortunately I have a Garmin watch so I added my Curve card to Garmin pay on my watch and that works great even when using Gadgetbridge instead of Garmin Connect. So that has been my solution.
securityman I would suggest buying a wallet you can attach to your phone, like this one: [https://www.amazon.com/WuoJI-Phone-Card-Wallet-Smartphones/dp/B075LFJ1TQ]
joaomorenorf alien2003 Samething happened to me. I bought the Pixel 9 Pro with the Pixel Watch 2 last month. When I was setting up the device, I managed to add the cards I tried. Now I have tried to add a new one, and as you said "Verification window (when you enter card details and billing address) just closes when I press "Continue" button and returns back to "Add a payment method"."
joaomorenorf joaomorenorf I discovered why it wasn't working. You need to share your location at all times with Google Services while adding a new card. When I did it, I managed to add. https://github.com/GrapheneOS/os-issue-tracker/issues/3873#issuecomment-2308366536
Revibe I have solved the problem by using a cheap Swatch-Watch with SwatchPAY. The app runs on GOS but is not required for the process itself. The Watch works even without Battary and is always with me. But doesn't trak anything. So I always can pay with NFC. The only little downside: I must use my PIN more often, but that's not really an issue.
harryd337 I can confirm that Curve Pay now works for contactless payments with a GrapheneOS phone. I just paid for groceries using it and it worked great. For reference I am in the UK but I hear that it's working everywhere Curve is available (so not the US for now).
tremble1256 I also recently contacted Privacy.com support and they confirmed that NFC payments are coming soon. Digital Wallet Cards is currently a closed beta program. We hope to make Digital Wallet Cards available to all users in the near future.
spigot tremble1256 FYI I believe this is the ability to add your privacy.com cards to apple pay/google wallet, not the ability to use the privacy.com app to tap and pay independent of those services. a good feature addition for those who use privacy.com, but tap and pay with google wallet in grapheneOS isn't available. at best you may be able to add privacy.com virtual cards to a wearOS device using google wallet paired with your grapheneOS device (which already works with other compatible cards)
Vsecu I was successful using Curve connected to my creditcard. I am a local EU inhabitant though, not sure other regions work as well. But I can use it worldwide. It is not the same as using my debit card which uses google pay unfortunately, at least I can just bring my phone for paying and not a bunch of cards outside my hotel that I do not want to lose while traveling.
x_arrange After reading this thread and couple others still don't have clear picture about Wallet/Pay on GOS. I try to understand what exactly prevents it from working. I'll appreciate a lot if anyone could explain technical aspects of this? Which data Wallet is lack when it runs on GOS? How it even knows it runs on GOS rather than on andorid? I mean GOS is sophisticated and well-developed enough to provide all requred security levels. How come its not possible to provide (or to fake) low level data wallet may be looking for so it would think it runs on standard Android? I would be glad to contribute to solving this issue if its possible and relevant
other8026 x_arrange It could work on GrapheneOS if the app didn't detect GrapheneOS isn't an OS certified by Google. The way they check that is with Play Integrity. See this comment for why spoofing won't work: https://github.com/GrapheneOS/os-issue-tracker/issues/1986#issuecomment-2186732614
akc3n x_arrange Well.. Albirew everyone's fixated on gpay, but i'm wondering if there's non-bank-linked alternatives for nfc payment apps... Catima doesn't seems to allow nfc payments since it's just a loyalty cards wallet of sorts.
CorvetteCole Hello, obviously Google Wallet doesn't work for NFC payments via credit and debit cards. However, I'm wondering if this also applies to transit passes? e.g. Bay Area Clipper or Seattle Orca cars
