JohnnyBravo Running latest software, verified mobile data is enabled, VPN is off with "Block connections without VPN" off also. I have tried restarting and resetting network settings, and toggling airplane mode. My carrier is a Verizon MVNO and I live in an area serviced by an LTEiRA partner. Data worked fine on iOS before switching. Any thoughts?
de0u JohnnyBravo Am I right to assume that, e.g., Vanadium works ok over Wi-Fi? Is it easy to visit an area that is "real Verizon", or at least served by a different carrier? Is it easy for you to try a different SIM card (ideally from a different carrier, but even from a non-iOS device on your carrier could be interesting)? If you pull up the status screen (Pretend to "call" *#*#4636#*#*, select "Phone information"), do you see anything interesting? What is your preferred network type set to? Is "Cbrs Data" on or off?
JohnnyBravo de0u All apps work on Wi-Fi. I was actually able to resolve this by adding a new APN VZWINTERNET to replace the default TRACFONE.VZWENTP. Not sure if maybe it has to do with Verizon buying Tracfone or what.
16oberryan JohnnyBravo Do group chats/MMS messages work correctly for you on VZWINTERNET? I had this same issue, and for me VZWINTERNET resolves the mobile data issue, but then groupchats don't download (I don't even get a notification)
JohnnyBravo 16oberryan They don't work on Signal, but I had just been attributing that to Signal dropping MMS support. I'll have to test on the default messenger app.
JohnnyBravo 16oberryan Just checked and you're right. Went back and forth with Tracfone for hours and got nowhere.
16oberryan JohnnyBravo I, too, have spent many hours with Tracfone only to get nowhere. At least I'm not alone. I'd like to get it working, but at this point, I don't know what to try... I don't even know if this would be an issue with Tracfone or with GrapheneOS
16oberryan I did initially, but then I bought a new sim when I noticed mobile data wasn't working (and Tracfone support said I would need to get a new one). And then. of course, I had the same issue with the new sim...
JohnnyBravo 16oberryan I think I fixed it. For the APN VZWINTERNET, set: MCC 311 MNC 480 APN Type default, supl, dun Bearer (check these) HSPA, GPRS, EDGE, eHRPD, UMTS, LTE, HSPAP, HSDPA, NR MVNO type GID Leave other fields alone.
16oberryan JohnnyBravo That works! Thanks so much! It's almost frustrating how similar that is to something I've tried before. So similar, in fact, that I'm starting to wonder if I just forgot to hit save after editing the apn settings or something dumb like that.
