I noticed today that my GrapheneOS Pixel 7 (which has been working without problems for months, thanks!) keeps dropping every few minutes to my carrier's Edge network (indicated by E). If I disable 2G in Network, it loses the cell network connection completely.

I swapped SIMs with an iPhone 12 (unaffected by network issues) and the problems persist (GrapheneOS drops to 2.5G or completely, iPhone 12 works with GrapheneOS SIM).

It could be a hardware issue with my Pixel 7 or sudden compatibility issue w/ my carrier (a T-mobile reseller) but posting here in case anyone else experiencing issues. Would much rather not have to re-flash stock Android (as there's not yet an implemented GrapheneOS backup option).

Thanks, all.

    several more data points:

    (1) VPN on/off has no effect
    (2) toggling airplane mode on/off will immediately restore LTE/5G connection (though only for a few minutes at least).
    (3) rebooting has no effect
    (4) LTE-only mode has no effect

    thank you!

pixie7 What if you relocate by 10 to 20 miles? Sometimes some piece of carrier infrastructure goes awry.

Thx for the response! This seems unlikely, as iPhone is unaffected, but will update here when able to do so in the coming days.

Just to clarify - it drops from 5G to Edge or does it lose connection to your wifi network?

        5 days later

Phead it drops to Edge, but Edge appears to be non-functional (not just slow).

I had the same issue. What was weird though with mine was if I reset the network settings I would get about 5 minutes of no network issues just for it to drop again. This would happen no matter where I was. I traveled to different cities over the state this past weekend and had the same issue so it wasn't a tower issue. I finally sat down last night and did a factory reset. So far no network drops. I'm not sure what happened to cause it but a factory reset seemed to fix it.
