if you wait 1 day tomorrow i have some result here, i test exactly the way you want - what a coincidence. So only telegram and signal and these dont need google services which i did not install. Lets see, my phone is only 3 days old i bought this pixel 7 pro for graphane OS.

grapheneman Sounds great! I'll be on the Edge of my Seat for some other Users to Report their experiences! Much appreciated, thanks!

If you are getting a new device for how you think it's going to perform, don't think of the battery, but what is has under the hood. I am not by far as happy with device as I am with GOS. But coupled with more than 4 years left of software update support, I am more than willing to swallow it. I didn't come here for another flavour of Google services, but for a degoogled phone and so far I have not been disappointed.

Hello, here is my report after 11 hours: notes WIFI has been ON as default for internet and phone is in the line of sight of a nearby 5G tower. Telegram and Signal were running standby, no google playstore stuff and no other apps running on main profile where i have been testing. Now after 11 hours It shows i still have 45% battery which is enough for 8 hours 44min according the discharge profile calculation. Overall, considering this pixel 7 pro has a power hog tensor core, i am fine with this performance, so at least i would say it worth to buy from hardware and graphene OS point of view.

grapheneman Thanks for Sharing your results! Very interesting. I wonder though how this Setup would perform with GPS and Signal/Telegram using them to Make Push Notifications. I think this should decrease battery Life, but I'm Not entirely Sure. I've found that battery hast become better with my Pixel on Stock OS throughout my days of usage, especially after doing about 3 Updates Yesterday. Most Google Apps are disables on Stock for me, as I don't use them, e.g. Gmail as FairEmail is Just better in every possible regard. Still, I could do without knowing of their presence on my device and Not Being forced to use Google Photos with the Gcam App...

[deleted] I can See your Point, but our preferences might differ. For me, battery life is rather important, as is a minimal App Setup. Which is the reason I'm interested in GrapheneOS.

Google on owner profiler is big no go for me and for this profile the battery life is fine compared to using stock google rom https://www.phonearena.com/news/pixel-7-battery_id140610 Of course you can have every google play store apps in second profile with google services too but for me 3 thing needed for every day usage : chat apps (telegram, signal), Huawei smart watch app and spotify and these can be run in owner de-googled profile. I will try other chat app too in owner profile.

For me its way better than on stock OS. So GOS both did it for me in terms of security, battery and options in app selection.
Always easily get 6h SOT. before, 5h was more normal on stock OS

Duckduck Thanks for Sharing your experiences! I haven't really benchmarked SOT yet, as I'm also Not much of a Poweruser in regard to my Phone. But Battery Life in General IS quite important to me. If GrapheneOS can Provide similar or even better battery Performance, I'm more than willing to do the Switch.

          Hey everyone,

Do someone know if having no Play Services at all on the Owner profile but having the three Google apps on a secondary profile will consume power ? If I only use owner profile at daily habit but sometime I have to use secondary profile for a short time, will it continue running in the background ?

            johndoe01
It will keep running unless you shutdown the secondary user with "end session' from the menu that pops up in the secondary user when you press the power button or from that users lock screen.

dazinism so that translates to me as the fewer profiles you have, the better off is your battery. Unless you want to keep on shutting down your sessions. How lucky am I with only one profile? Lol. Google not invited.

Having an extra profile open doesnt really make a lot of difference to battery use. Its more down to what apps are running. (Also the quality of your network connection can make a big difference!!)

If you have Google Play Services installed in multiple user profiles it will have a significantly higher power draw than if everything was just installed in one user profile.

Using secondary user profiles can be very useful if you want/need to be able isolate apps/groups of apps, keep some data/apps encrypted while still being able to use the phone (dont unlock or end session a user), reliably delete data (delete a user), quickly completely shut down a group of apps etc.

Working between user profile is more of a fiddle than doing everything in one user.

I would guess installing Google Play Services for notifications would improve battery life over giving unrestricted battery permissions to several messaging apps. Can't confirm though as I haven't installed anything Google.
