Hello all!

I saw onvier Onvif camera viewer is available on amazon app store..

So, you can download an app via their downloadable app store app (downloaded from their website).

Install an app, pay for premium version of that app. Then delete the app store app.
Keeping the app you installed working.

Anyone use the amazon app store?

Ta

Update. Na. Its not so good....

The downloaded camera app works, kind of. Occasionally it will boof you out of the app and the widget is ropey with displaying current camera image.

You are then prompted to install Amazon App store to use the app.

3.99 well spent on finding that out.
Hope it helps someone else in the future!

Sounds like it may be issues with the app.
Might be able to keep the app happier by keeping Amazon App Store installed. Could try disabling it.

Other thing that may be worth trying is enabling exploit protection compatibility mode for the app in its apps setting page.

Turns out (for that app specifically), the developer will sell you key, which can be used on one Android device. So that means I've now paid for it three times lol. Worth it tho! Good app for ONVIF cameras.

Be interested to see if anyone knows (by looking at the code) if the Amazon store is as creepy as the google framework tho.

I have been curious if anyone has been able to figure out how to install MS Teams from Amazon store.. I can find it on the browser in the store and add to my "purchase" and then in theory it should show up on the app store as one of "my apps" but it never shows up.. anyone else able to install it from AMazon store?

goslife This is what I found but haven't executed: "All other Android devices: Open Amazon Appstore (app) on your device, then go to Menu → My Apps → Refresh to see your newly purchased app to download and install"

BTW, I was shocked to find out that I have 15 devices registered with Amazon services, some no longer exist. So there goes your answer how bad (or good should we say) is Amazon at tracking vs Google.

[deleted] I did that bit when I refresh they don't show up.. teams also doesn't show up if I search on the Amazon app store on my device but will show up with the option to "purchase to the cloud" in the browser. So its like the app exists but for some reason my device isnt eligible to actually install even tho it technically should be.. I wonder if its a regional or geographic restriction.. like its available only in countries that doesn't have Google play?

goslife Upon trying myself I can now confirm Amazon Appstore app downloaded from https://www.amazon.com/androidapp is not equal to the Appstore that comes preinstalled on Fire devices. When I went to Appstore on my Fire 8 HD in my Library MS Teams was already installing automatically. When I opened downloaded Appstore and logged in on my GOS device, none of the apps in my library were recognized. So my suggestion is, if you own Fire tablet, get MS Teams on it. Then install file manager like https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/index/apk/com.raival.fileexplorer for example and extract apk of the app, which you can then forward by any means available to your GrapheneOS device for installation. I hope it makes sense.

[deleted] thanks for checking. I was thinking it would be available on the fire but since it also since the cloud option for other android devices I figured it should be available some how that way.. I might try your idea tho just to see if notifications and the app will work with just Amazon store installed and no google play. Its just an annoying way to install the app. Seems odd it wouldnt be in the other store since I would think they would want to boast the number of apps
