Does it make sense to have Outlook on a Graphene phone?

Hi.
New to Graphene, just got it installed and trying to understand it.
I need to read professional mail (Outlook 365). Does it make sense to install that app if I've gone for an OS that protects my privacy??
I am not clear as to what the difference is to have Microsoft app on Graphene compared to another phone OS. Same thing or does Graphene actually prevent the MS app from collecting (some/most) private data etc?

Have you tried accessing your Outlook mail from a browser? Like so...

You have android permissions to limit data app can access. App can be installed in its own profile, preventing communication with apps in other profiles.
App doesn't have access to hardware identifiers.

"Profile" being different from "user", right? If I got this right, "profile" is like another phone while "user" is like dedicated space on the same (virtual) phone. But if apps across users can communicate with one another, can Google track my apps etc? What can Outlook know about what I am doing on my phone when on the same profile, albeit in a different user area?

primipare Users are like different phones. Every user can have 2 profiles: user profile and work profile. Any app can see which other apps are installed in the same profile as them.

If you need to use an Outlook 365 email account for work, use the email client K-9 Mail from F-Droid which supports OAuth2 login authentication for Outlook accounts.

I am not trying to discourage people from using this kind of apps. You can trim apps' wings to your liking by tweaking the permissions. But you can't stop tracking and analytics from being performed the moment you give it network access. You can also hide it in a different profile but as soon as the server side analytics identifies your internet access point, it will be linked to a user who used the same service in the past. Am I right or am I right?

But what is it exactly you give permission to?
If you create a separate work profile, all work related stuff will be isolated.
The only tracking the app can do is what you actually do in the app and from where you connect. That last part can also be solved by using a persistent VPN connection .

There is also the paid version of Nine called Re:Work which has more business features and handles shared Inboxes. It is fantastic.

As a possible solution, maybe create a secondary user with no sensitive information on it, install the software you need, and when you are finished just exit the user (press and hold the power button and select 'End Session')
