I often have an issue of incoming calls not showing up on screen(locked and unlocked), hence not able to answer/reject. Only notification of a missed call right when caller stopped dialing.
Issue does not happen only when molly is on screen, incoming call is shown as expected.

P8, Molly v 7.53.5-1-FOSS Web socket service. Issue is present through many updates.

I saw similar issue, but with database being locked, which is not my case. Any ideas on what to check in order to fix are welcome!

Also quality of audio on the other end is very poor. Probably a pixel issue, but if there are ways to improve pls share too.

Onlyfun I had the same problem as you and what fixed it for me was long pressing the app, clicking app info then notifications and enabling both call status and calls. I get the default notification sound, then the screen shows the call. Not really sure why this worked for me, but it might work for you as well.

Onlyfun im not sure if what you're asking is possible. Are you able to download the apk from github?

I'm not sure also. And yes I was able to download Molly-FOSS from github. The apk is signed with the same key(s) as the installed one from Accrescent. So it should be possible (I havn't tried yet).

It is possible to install the Foss version from github over the accrescent one
I have just done so.

just tried molly download from here https://github.com/mollyim/mollyim-android/releases/latest and it downloads as expected. However I used my laptop, as always, then transfered the apk to my phone.

blusterpilgrim thanks, that i did a while ago with no positive consequences. Instead made me wonder why such obvious settings had their values not in default state. I cant recall exactly but either messages or calls or even both were set to silent. I am sure i have not set that.

Nuttso Hi @Nuttso, will the servers be federated (including the official Signal server)? Otherwise how to connect to people using different servers? Also, will methods of registration other then SMS be supported?

cuckflared We won't share any more information regarding this before it's finished. But you will be able to talk to signal users and molly users using a different infrastructure.

Ok, so for now I'm deducing this: there will be a separate Molly network (hopefully with interconnected servers) and a separate Signal network. Communication between these two networks won't be possible but the Molly app will support usage of both networks. Sounds good:)

I don't understand, how database local encryption relates to online backup?

Anyway it's implementaion is questionable at least. I believe for many signal is substitute to stock voice/text, I'm sure I've read molly mentioned by graphene members. Turning on encryption at the same time limits notification period to when database is unlocked. I'd be surprise any viable number of user would accept such trade off.

It doesn't if you run UnifiedPush as the notification backend. There is no real trade off here.

Onlyfun Molly works exactly the same as the normal signal app from a user's perspective. There are additional security measures (i.e. local database encryption), but you don't have to use it if you don't want to and still have some other benefits.

No, it doesn't. You can use a Mollysocket instance from 3rd parties. There's no need to self host.
