Onlyfun Just to clear things up: Molly never contacts any Tuya / smart-home servers.
Under the hood, Molly is still the Signal client, so it only talks to Signal’s own relay infrastructure. If your RethinkDNS log is showing Tuya-related hostnames while Molly is running, that’s almost certainly:
A misattribution in the RethinkDNS log viewer. It sometimes tags connections with the “last-focused” app rather than the real origin process.
A leftover or background component from the old Tuya app that’s still on the device (e.g., a service or push receiver) and is being grouped under Molly by mistake.
Either way, the traffic isn’t coming from Molly itself, so you don’t have to worry about Molly leaking data to a smart-home backend. If you want to double-check, run a packet capture while you open Molly you will see it only reaches Signal-owned endpoints.
