Hi! I was scrolling through the forum and I found this. Does anyone know if its possible to sync music from iTunes directly to Gramophone on GOS? I purchase my music on iTunes and with an iPhone, it automatically shows up on my phone if I buy it on my computer. Is it possible to achieve something similar on GrapheneOS with a syncing app or something? Or is that an apple thing only? Thanks.

Probably9857 I was thinking more of an app that would sync my music from iTunes to Gramophone. I buy music directly from iTunes, so I don't use apple music. ;)

I've seen the jellyfish server in F Droid before. How do you set it up? It looks pretty cool but I don't know how to use a self hosted server.

I have the Roon Optimized Core Kit installed on a NUC computer at home as a streamer and library. Here I manage my purchased high-resolution audio files and use Qobuz as my streaming service (reasonable artist remuneration and high-resolution audio).
For on the go, I have RoonARC installed on my Pixel running GrapheneOS. This allows me to connect to the NUC and have my entire library and streaming service available on the go.

unseenpolar I pay for Tidal. The sound quality is amazing. Switched from Spotify a couple years ago and never looked back. The only thing Spotify does better is the suggestions algorithm, but the trade off is well worth it.

I use RadioDroid for internet radio, and rip retrowave/spacesynth/vaporwave CD's on my Playstation 3 (MP3 192Kbs VBR) and put them on my phone.
I play those MP3's back using VLC, but I first create a playlist for them.
I also use VLC to play (free) computer MODs. (It plays IT, XM, MOD and S3M along other formats)

You need an OS to run it on.. Anything from a windows machine to a rasp pi or a low powered nuc etc..

I run a intel nuc with proxmox as the OS
Then a container which hosts docker and jellyfin.

There is a jellyfin forum which is probably better on how to set it up.

Its an amazing home media server (movies/tv/music)

Are there iTunes alternatives to purchasing music? I mean, what do you do if you don't have an apple ID for iTunes? Where do android people buy music? I personally prefer to buy my music rather then stream it, so thats why I'm asking.

Once you get the server side setup..I found the official jellyfin client app perfect for video but is lacking for music playback ... Finamp is a great free open source player... Else symfonium (not free on play store) is leagues ahead .

The official jellyfin app does play music. Just last I tried it it had weird playback behaviour sometimes stopping after a few songs..

I used finamp for a while happily.. Until I tried symfonium and it's just a lot better and configurable, nice widgets etc.

I only use the official app for tv/movies.
