  • Anyone Having Issues wit Joplin and Sync?

Just checking if anyone else is having issues with Joplin (https://joplinapp.org/) on GrapheneOS.

I have my notes file saved locally to my phone, and previously had them encrypted and synced to Dropbox. With the newer versions of Joplin, the notes would never sync, or sync partially then hang.

I had to downgrade to version 2.5.5 for things to sync locally. The current version is 2.9.8.

I am syncing Joplin encrypted on Windows, LineageOs on the tablet, and GrapheneOs on the phone using the cloud with no problem, latest Joplin version installed on each device.

flambulant Thanks for answering. Which cloud service are you using? Do you have an approximate size of your database?

I'm using "luckycloud", a German provider, and sync data via webdav.
The amount of Joplin data ranges between 300 to 700 Megs of user data on the phone according to the value indicated by GrapheneOs due to the amount of changing data like attached images or pdf files.

I have also been using Joplin, the Sync feature is fast and requires no intervention. The cloud service is a self-hosted Nextcloud instance.

Max-Zorin The current version is 2.9.8.

My app is showing fully up-to-date, but only version 2.8.1. I installed through the Aurora Store.

Thanks for the answers. I uninstalled Joplin, removed all the local Joplin data, reinstalled 2.9.8 (https://github.com/laurent22/joplin-android/releases/tag/android-v2.9.8) and opened it and it was so slow to make it unusable (without data). Then moved the data back onto the phone and tried to sync it. That didn't work either.

Went back to 2.5.5 and synced the data. It worked but it took 4 hours to sync 700 mb of data local to the phone.

Strange, must be something on my phone.... I've got a Pixel 5.

That's weird. Works fine for me on pixel5 as well as on pixel7p

Are you syncing the data to the filesystem or some form of cloud service?

I am finding it super slow to sync just a few notes, hardly any pictures, with the file system. I'm wondering if users are having this issue on stock android as well.
