under App Info for Google Play Services, I have "Location and Sensors" under permissions. I don't use any google wallet or other google apps, aside from Waze, which works great.

What permissions do you have for the play services? I don't really have a use for the app so I dont really want it on my phone. But sometimes you have to give play services a few permissions for certain apps like google wallet requires phone and SMS.

Ahahhh! One problem solved! Allowed Google Play Services access to the network, and my in-app maps started working!
Now I just need to figure out how to get the News9 App working and I'm good!!!!

How I did the in-app maps - Settings>Apps>Sandboxed Google Play> Play services App Info> Permissions - ALLOW NETWORK.

50% there on my Android journey!

The entire app refuses to load and freezes at the startup screen.

Hello! For me, the news app worked for the 10 seconds i used it then uninstalled.

Can you provide logs of the app to help pinpoint the issue?
Hold your finger down on the app's icon > app info > view logs

Either:

Copy and paste the text here > Select/highlight the log text (ctrl + A for select all works) > click the exclamation mark button as seen here: https://imgur.com/aTuneaU

So two days ago the radar - it didn't work at all. Today it works. I have zero idea why it started working. Viewing video still fails though.

My log is attached with long/lat changed. Does it show why vids wouldn't be working?

GOoGone So two days ago the radar - it didn't work at all. Today it works.

It works now that you enabled the network permission for google play services the other day.

Viewing video still fails though.

It wants to play an Ad before playing a video and fails to load 1. It also fails to connect to a telemetry server.
You probably have 1 or more that's problematic: ad blocker, dns app/server, content blocker, vpn, network/wifi ad blocker.
It successfully loaded the video content from the news network.

1st error is weird & the telemetry failure

Once you know things work, I would enable MTE. Won't affect 99% of apps.
