Pulling pictures from secondary user profile - how to?

I am trying to recover (pull) pictures that are on a secondary user profile. What are the options?

I tried using adb, which works well with primary (admin) profile but I am unable to switch users to a secondary profile.

I'd rather not use cloud services unless it's my only option, of course.

I'm not sure what exactly you mean by "recover (pull)". Has there been any malfunction?

If not and you just want to copy pictures, you could just do so transfering them to a computer:

If necessary: Enable data transfer in Settings > Security and Privacy > Exploit protection > USB-C port (if i member correctly, you only can access this setting in owner profile)
Switch to the user profile you want to back up/transfer files from
Connect your device to a computer via USB-C
After connecting, tap on notification Charging this device via USB. Tap for mor options
Under Use USB for select File Transfer
A file transfer window will pop up on your computer. Use it to access files in your user/secondary profile

If you don't want to use a computer, you could also use an USB stick.

Advantages: You don't need an additional app, using a decent USB cable transfering files is fast (especially handling lots of / big files) and ADB is not required.

Check out Inter Profile Sharing from the Accrescent app store. Having ADB enabled is a massive security risk.

Vincent96 Thanks, I get the concern with ADB but I disabled it immediately after use and revoked the token. Nothing is free security wise, including Inter Profile Sharing or ADB, but I feel like that can be managed at least for ADB, are you not concerned about Inter Profile Sharing being another potential risk?

It's done over the LAN and you can add an encryption password. ADB is not even comparable to Inter Profile Sharing on security basis.

Safest and simplest method is to copy your photos to a USB

ADB give the connected computer full access.
Inter Profile Sharin can only access files that you explicitly give to the app.

ADB exposes an enormous amount of attack surface.
If you have ADB access, you can enable perf events, but there's a lot more attack surface via ADB than that and it's as close as it gets to having root access without an exploit.
ADB has near full control of the device, but isn't meant to actually have root access on a production build. It can be used to do everything you can do via the UI but also far more which expose a lot of attack surface.
ADB isn't advisable on a production device either way.

Try https://github.com/ismartcoding/plain-app which is really nice and convenient. Install it on the owner profile and make it available to the secondary profile. Not only can you push/pull files but control almost the entirety of your phone. You can set it up with connection confirmation (on the phone) or simply use a password so you don't even have to touch the phone. It supports HTTPS (self signed certificate with warnings on the web browser). This is a really nice app which works very well in my experience.

You can launch it on every profile at the same time but remember that WiFi is shared among all profiles so you'll have to setup different ports for each profile so they don't collide.
