Please help X app won't let me login.

I tried with bitwarden and google manager and it didnt work. However, when I tried it with Proton Pass, it worked!

I created the X passkey on Vanadium web browser and saved it into proton pass, and then logged into the app with it. I can also confirm it works in the private space.

AngWay You've already been advised logging into X with a passkey works without issue. Use this login method and X will work normally.

fid03 I have tried it with proton pass i ended up just having to login through the browser and then adding that to my home screen.

Yodel5154 So i downloaded the Grok ai app and used my X account to login to it and it logged in just fine not one problem. you would think i would be able to login to the X app just as easy since it's letting me log in on the grok app.

AngWay Could it be a VPN issue? maybe try changing the country location. When I was initially testing with other password managers I found that X would sometimes not even bother logging in and getting to the passkey stage because of the VPN's country

Yodel5154 I'm not using any VPN so i don't think it would be that. still so confused that i can login to grok with my X account but i can't login to X app at all.

Vincent96 What I still want to add is that creating a passkey doesn’t work properly in Vanadium; I installed Firefox for this. That worked without any problems!

Vincent96 Are u talking about the X app? or adding it to the homescreen from the browser? because it's not letting me login on the app even with a passkey which is my fingerprint.

Where did you try to store the passkey? In a password manager such as Bitwarden and Proton Pass? Or on a physical security key? In Vanadium, most people have success with the former; the latter not so much.

fid03 passkey was stored in 1Password. Vanadium wouldn't accept a passkey, Firefox however did.

fid03 This is what worked for me too, logged in via the UI and added a passkey to Proton Pass. Passkey login worked in X on GOS afterwards.

I ran into the same thing. I just made a shortcut to open the X website in Brave Beta. It works very well and is almost the same. I would like to use the app, but I guess we shall see. I tried to make a passkey on the X app (on stock Android OS before Graphene OS) and it failed.

Satoichi passkey was stored in 1Password. Vanadium wouldn't accept a passkey, Firefox however did.

The last time I used 1Password for Android, they had not allowlisted Vanadium for passkey autofill. So the 1Password app would just refuse to autofill passkeys in Vanadium. I confirmed that with their customer support at the time. It sounds like they still haven't allowlisted Vanadium. If you contact their customer support they might be able to confirm that.

If you have already created a passkey for X in 1Password using another browser, then I imagine it ought to work fine in the X app.

I just had the exact same issue when trying to login to X and I can confirm that the passkey approach worked (with Bitwarden).
