Calls disabled

I have a Pixel 7 Pro with GrapheneOs and been using it for years already.
Recently I noticed, that in some irregular intervals, I can't make nor receive normal phone calls. After a reboot, it works fine again.
Now I don't make a lot of phone calls, so it's a bit difficult to figure out when exactly it happens. Since I also don't receive a lot of calls, I can't really say how many I miss. But sometimes I noticed, I did get notified about a new voice message, without ever any trace of a missed call.
My setup uses a blank owners profile with two secondary profiles. I'm mostly in the first secondary profile, but not sure that makes a difference. Terminating the profile and starting it again did not solve the call problem, I still could not initiate the call.
Has somebody else experienced as well?

Matth This is an ongoing issue with Pixels modems. There are some info in this forum about it. I have the same issue with my P8Pro. It's intermittent. Check the network selector (5G, 4G only etc).

Matth What are the exact symptoms when it is not possible to place a call? Does flipping airplane mode on and off enable calling?

I haven't tried that yet, but will try next time to flip the airplane mode when I have that.

When I try to make a call, it shows like it's trying to call, but it never connects. Other than that, I don't notice anything different. I can still place calls via Signal or other messenger apps (I guess these are just TCP traffic and don't use the modem).

I have this same issue. It is indeed intermittent and I don't know what triggers it. I also use a secondary profile as my main profile, I have a feeling that might cause the issue. Going into my owner profile to make a call doesn't work, I need to reset the mobile modem (Settings > Internet > reset symbol on top right) while in owner profile, and this usually (or always?) fixes it, maybe I needed to restart the phone in the past. I assumed it had something to do with the VPN I was using in owner, I used to have Orbot but then switched to Rethink DNS, and I've had this problem on both.

Sounds like there's no permanent solution except to wait for a fix. I've had this issue for maybe a year.

heh, I just forced call disable by enaing force volte and found that restarting cellular connection via airplane mode on and off is sufficient, no need to restart phone.
