User profile switching still badly crashes. This hasn't been a problem on Samsung 14+15 nor on stock Google 15+16, but heavily limits usability on GrapheneOS unfortunately since 14->15 upgrade.
Color comeback very welcome here - helps the old (weak eyesight) fellows navigating quickly without trying to read everything... Thanks for all your hard work, GOS team!

Is the ability to hold down the power button to launch a Digital Assistant not part of AOSP/GOS?

tinymonster Consider making a github issue for this, but most likely it contains some google specific code which isn't part of AOSP.

Did anyone else notice that the scrolling sensitivity seems to have changed with QPR1? Flicker scroll trigger seems more sensitive.

Brightness bug still not fixed? Has been like this for years? More important with new icons really xD

Adaptive brightness = OFF.
Brightness still lowers by itself from 100 to 90%.
However, the brightness bar stays at 100%. So it is not possible to drag it back to 100%.
Only fix is: turning airplane mode on for 60 seconds -then swiping down at the brightness bar - and let us readjust it back to 100%. Now it shows 90% but can be slided back to 100%.

Are you should this isn't the difference between sustained and peak brightness?

Graphite1 I'm pretty sure that's intended. Devices can't be run at so much brightness for a longer time.
Since the Pixel 8 line, we have crazy high brightness, and the device can't sustain that. So it's probably just the peak brightness going back to what it can sustain

That peak brightness is meant for quick bursts when you need to use the device in the sun for a quick message

The new icons and colors in the top bar are ugly, and more difficult to read. How can I restore the old graphics in the top bar and in the detailed bar, please?
The white/gray background makes the applications difficult to read on the application list.
The search bar in the settings has become very large.
Notifications no longer appear in the middle of the lock screen.

I feel like there has been a visual regression with this update 😭

dictator236 Yes, I would like to revert to the old UI too, if possible. I miss having symbolic icons in the notification area. Now they’re a tad too big, and I’m not sure I like the new look and feel of my phone.

This morning the new update got applied. It totally gave me the creeps and almost scared me to death. At first I thought it my OS got broken because something went wrong while updating
Eventually I could "reset" it to a relatively "normal look", except for the status bar. Seriously, as much as I appreciate the hard work of the developers for GrapheneOS, but this change looks like the OS is buggy or corrupted. Why on earth would I want to look the status/notification bar messed up like this? Was there anything wrong the way it look before? I can cope with most of the changes, but this one just takes the cake
Layout-wise it is a huge step backwards

Sorry for being that harsh, the constant improvement and maintenance is of course highly appreciated
I'd take any bitter pill like that as long as I can use this OS

advokate Correct me if I'm wrong, but the layout is that of AOSP. GrapheneOS usually doesn't much invest in the layout. So I'm afraid you will have to make do with that change unless you find a way to correct it through parameters or making a fork.

Exactly same here, and I was scared too because I thought I had accidentally pressed some buttons the day before, which would have broken the UI... (but no, it just was the update...)

By the way. Has anybody managed to deactivate the vibration and notification sound after unlocking the display?
The lock screen watch isn't centralized anymore, found no option to change that as well
I could go on for ages, but that's enough complaining for now. Those are just the major annoyances besides that status bar issue

Doesn't work for me. No matter how much I'm trying to shrink them, they are always larger than normal app symbols on start screen or menu

This is indeed the look of AOSP. You can customize the size of the tiles, click on any of them and use it to make it smaller like it was, or bigger.
