Sim card not accepted by Pixel 7 Pro???

I tried to assign my existing number that I have on my Pixel 3XL onto my Pixel 7 Pro. However, the lady at the store (MetroPCS) told me that they could not do it because the sim card was not recognized. Is this because I inserted the sim card after I completed the GrapheneOS installation? Do I have to enable something? They told me i have to go back to Best Buy to unlock my phone but I checked my receipt and it says that I bought it Unlocked. It makes no sense. I would appreciate help from members of this forum that have had this same problem or even developers themselves

If you have a physical SIM card, you should be able to take it out of the old phone, put it into the new one, and have your number come up automatically regardless of which OS is up.

BluishHumility I'm not trying to use an eSIM. What I tried was going to MetroPCS and switched my SIM that was in my P3XL and put it into my P7 Pro. What you said is exactly how I thought it would be: just a simple switch without any tinkering. The people MetroPCS told me to go to best buy but I don't want to do that because I feel that someone here has the answer about what I have to do to my P7 pro so that it accepts the SIM card. Error message I am getting is "SIM 1 not allowed."

According to this article, you can check in the settings to see if it is expecting a expecting a SIM card.

Discrepancies within the phone's settings can also be the cause of SIM card errors on Android smartphones. If the phone is expecting to use an eSIM, which does not require a physical SIM card, it will reject any physical SIM card installed in the first SIM card slot. If that's not it, I would say taking it back to where you got it might be your best bet.

BluishHumility great article. In case I go to best buy and they cannot fix the problem, would I have to download google framework services for it to work as the article states?

Ladiesman217 I don't think you need to worry about that bottom part unless you get that error; my impression is the "SIM Not Provisioned For Voice" error is different than the "SIM 1 not allowed" error.

BluishHumility thank you for the input. The problem ended up being the SIM. The SIM card on the P3XL did not support 5g. I had to buy a new one
