Good apps similar to iOS photos?

Hello good users,
I just migrated to GOS from iOS, and am loving every minute of it. One small snag I have encountered while transferring data over is regarding pictures: I am very meticulous with organization, so albums are a critical tool for image management. The default Gallery app cannot create albums on its own, only access ones made by another.

So I downloaded Aves, and it seems to do everything I need. Except... When I need to add an image to multiple albums at once, my only option seems to be to copy it to the other one. Given that multiple categories apply to one image, this takes up valuable storage space and the copies aren't synced to each other.
I am used to, and prefer, the iOS way where it is simply a change in display, each album an image belongs to refers back to the same file.
Is there a good GOS photo manager that uses this method? Or should I experiment with using tags in Aves? Using tags seems slightly more inconvenient, given there is no tab for it on the bottom and I have to navigate to the 'hamburger' menu in the top-left as an additional step. Also, any tips on moving images between profiles is appreciated, as I have Seek/iNaturalist on a separate profile but want to manage the pictures I take with it on my main one. How do I turn off autocorrect too, turning off spell checker seems to have not done that like I thought it would.

Edit: I did find a way to modify bottom navigation to add a tags button, so I will play around with that a bit and see if it fulfills the role I need. But input is still appreciated, as I am wanting to use tags for more granular information like people featured or artist credit - albums would be more general and navigating through the granular tags may be a pain

This is how Aves works. When you create an album, it basically creates a folder in Pictures. And when you assign a photo to an album - it moves that photo to the respective folder.

There is an app called Inter Profile Sharing. I personally haven't used it but its acceptance seems to be very good.

techliterateidiot I think you should check out ente.io . it has the same features then iOS Photo App but you can use it on every platform.

Yes, it seems so. What I am wanting to know is if there is an alternative app that works more like what I'm used to.

I've used Inter Profile Sharing and I can say it's one of the best apps ever for moving photos, files, and even copied text/links from your clipboard to another profile.

No, you install it in both profiles and set a sharing password (must be the same in both profiles). Then in one profile you click on the big share file or the share text button. After you select a file, a notification will come up in the notification drawer (swipe down from the top of the screen) saying 'Sharing file xxxxxxx.jpg' or whatever the file name is. Now switch to the profile you want to receive it in and open the Inter Profile Sharing app, but don't do anything. In the notification drawer it should now say, shared file (or something similar). At the bottom click Add all to downloads. Now you've moved it. Go back to the other profile and swipe down to view that first notification that says Inter Profile Sharing is sharing a file, and click 'Stop Sharing' at the bottom. Done. Do it a few times and it becomes a breeze.

Yeah that's the only thing that I also dont like about Ente. I don't care if its 'secure AI' that doesn't 'learn' from my photos, I also don't want any AI, period. You may want to look into Proton Drive. Not much storage with the free plan but they do have more storage if you get a paid plan. You can organize photos in albums and also put the same photos in as many different albums as you like, which is nice. I use it along side Aves Libre. It seems to work for me.

Well, compared to others Ente's AI is completely local (works only on your phone) AND needs to be explicitly enabled in settings for it to do anything with your photos. I wouldn't worry about it. Don't give up on a good app for no good reason.

Would the 'not much storage' comment be relevant to me at all, then? Since it is named 'drive' it sounds like non-local storage is mandatory?

OK. :) Just thought I'd see if you had checked out Proton Drive. But if you only want your photos locally, then you'd have to choose one of the gallery apps available. (ie; Aves, Fossify Gallery)

Probably. You only get 2GB of storage with the free plan. But that can be bumped up to 5GB if you upload a file and share a file within the first month of creating an account. I only have the free plan (so 5GB), and I've already used 36% of my storage so I'll probably get a paid plan eventually.

Yes I guess thats all you could do. Some things about GrapheneOS are that you can't have everything that iOS or stock Android has.

One more thing is that I cannot send images by browsing through them in the default messaging app? I can do so if it's immediately available, but not every image exists in the drop-up menu. So if I tap the large green icon instead, anything I tap from there or the 'browse files in other apps' option just returns me to the messaging display without showing anything as selected.
Rather, if I want to text someone something, I have to exit and open aves/gallery directly and tap the image sharing button from there. A suitable workaround, but annoying that something isn't working how it is supposed to.
