Pixel 8a stuck on GrapheneOS logo after Google logo

Hi everyone,

For the past few days, my Pixel 8a has been stuck on the GrapheneOS logo right after the Google logo when booting up.

I’ve tried turning it off completely and charging it overnight, as well as booting into fastboot mode, but nothing seems to work — it always freezes on the GrapheneOS logo during startup.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this or how I could fix it?

Mnz303 Hi, sorry to hear that something is going wrong with your device.

Try the following steps :

Reboot your Pixel then immediately press power button to pause the boot process (your device must be charging at the same time) wait 20min then let the device boot by pressing power button again. Don't give up too fast and wait again 20min (do not unplug the charging cable.
sideload the latest available release
sideload a future release

In last resort, flash GrapheneOS again

It's possible that your device operating system is corrupted or that a component like the internal SSD has a hardware issue.

Mnz303 correct, your data will remain intact. Side loading is useful for updating a device that you keep offline (never connected to the internet).

Mnz303 in any case I would recommend keeping a backup of important data in encrypted form in offline/online storage, whatever suits your needs. Don't just rely on a single device.

You could so try booting your device into Safe mode by:

Turn off your device.
Press the Power button to turn it on.
When the Google logo appears, press and hold the Volume Down button until the device finishes booting.
You will see "Safe Mode" at the bottom of the screen.

userofgos It's okay everything starts again and I didn't lose my data while doing the sideloiding, the error came from the fact that I didn't download the right version "signed update package"
