GWallet alternative

Hi!

As you may have already understood from the title, I'm looking for an alternative for the wallet, and it's the only issue that keeps my Pixel 9 Pro running the stock operating system.

Of course, I've already done some research on the docs, this forum and Reddit, and the only real alternative seems to be Curve Pay, but I'm reluctant to use it because I don't know what they do with our data...

I live in the EU and use my phone every day to pay, and I mainly use virtual cards from different banks, so the simplest and oldest option for using real cards doesn't work for me.

So, any advice?

LamaRohn did you check paypal, heard they started tap to pay in EU. I don't live in EU so not sure.

options here are really limited. its just curve, unless your bank(s) have anything built into their own app than can be used on graphene

Lucario1829 that's the problem, I use multiple banks with virtual cards and none of 'em can be used as default wallet app (exept for curve that I already tryed to use some times ago)

LamaRohn why did you not continue using curve? Also interested in understanding options out there.

diarmuid not OP, but I also opted to not use Curve. the reason is that I find parts of their privacy policy, like data sharing with social media companies, unacceptable. I sent an email to their DPO exercising my right to object to certain usages of my data, they replied that they received my email and that they would look into it, but never replied further despite my numerous follow ups.

diarmuid I stopped using curve a lot of time ago for the same reasons of @brightjob4495 so I was looking for other options but I can't really find something actually.
Some users use garmin pay but I should be obligated to have a smartwatch with me all the time charged and I don't use them...

brightjob4495 same. Their "privacy" policy is horrendous.

NOTE the wording. They did not say anything similar to their sharing with adtech: "We may share your data with our advertising partners but this will be done, as far as possible, in an aggregated or anonymised way" -- which to me is admission that they share full and unredacted details.

LamaRohn I use garmin pay.

My watch used "normally" (with all the tracking on and GPS used) it's good for some 7-14 days for me (depending on use).
If I limited power-hungry applications to the minimum (but still didn't put it into power-save), that'd be closer to 20 days.

I can live with that, you could choose a device good for longer (eg Enduro 2, up to 46 days, or Instinct 3, between 40 and unilimited :) )
