Quetta Browser? Better than Firefox as an extension browser?

Just to clarify, I already use Brave and Vanadium for 99.99℅ of my browsing and don't plan to stop. But, there's a specific extension I like to use for some non-sensitive websites, so I need a browser that supports extensions for that purpose.

It appears that Kiwi browser was officially abandoned earlier this year, but I'm seeing some references to this new Quetta Browser as a worthy successor. I've never heard of it before.

I'm currently using IronFox, but it's extremely slow and it appears to be battery inefficient as well.

I used to use Fennec F-Droid (as a replacement of vanilla Firefox), but it recently started having issues opening up some pages when shared, so I stopped using it. I could go back to vanilla firefox as well, though I was a bit uncomfortable with the extra data collection "features" the last time I installed it.

Very sketchy. Deletes things in their sub, if someone questions them. Says they are a business located in London, but actually a Chinese company using a loophole to have it registered in London, despite being based in China. I don't get into the whole "China bad" stuff, but just sketchy why they would do that and anytime asked instead of answering ignore or remove question. Keep saying they will be open source soon, but every time someone asks, they give excuses. Got caught making questionable connections a while back as well. Wouldn't give a real explanation.

It may very well be safe, but so far, they have not given me a reason to think it is and plenty to think it is not.

My company does testing of software, including browsers, for secure environments. We have not been requested to test this, so we have not requested auditable code, as it is a process since they are closed source. Maybe one day.

n3t_admin YIKES. Thanks for the save! Glad I asked before I installed.

So I guess I'm back to either using a Firefox based browser or a proprietary browser that definitely collects and shares data like Edge Canary.

How bad is the telemetry in vanilla Firefox compared to Firefox forks like Fennec F-Droid and IronFox? If I just disable the data collection stuff in settings, is it the same as Fennec F-Droid? Or is there more concerning stuff going on that I can't disable?

Iron Fox does appear to have more privacy and security features, but it's overkill for what I intend to use this browser for (and it breaks things...a lot). Besides, simply using vanadium or brave appears to be better for privacy and security than anything IronFox might provide anyway.

My major beef with Fennec F-Droid is the slow updates and F-Droid itself (due to security concerns). And because a recent update broke things. I'd prefer to get as many apps from Accrescent and Play Store as possible, unless there's a good reason not to for a particular app. But otherwise the experience was fine.

Designed1668 Gecko based browsers are considered insecure (especially and specifically in regards to Android) due to their incorrect implementation of site isolation. I really wouldn't worry about telemetry collected by Mozilla compared to everything else that is wrong with Firefox and its forks. The general recommendation is Vanadium, followed by Brave.

FWIW: if you can skip the extension altogether, that would be the best case.
Otherwise, stick with the OG Firefox to reduce uniqueness in browser fingerprinting.

Designed1668 yes. The combination of mobile browser and extension already make you pretty unique. Not many people are using extensions on their mobile phones.
