person92 Tested installing it and at first got the rejection about "rooted device".
I then step-wise allowed the app permissions, cleared its user data between tests, and now it wont reject on suspected rooting anymore.
I've got so far as to a state where my guess is, the app expect me to be registered to their bank, which I'm not, so I can't dig any deeper.

Bottom line; The app seems like it probably would work.

The app expect to be allowed most of its permissions, and Sandboxed Google Play Services should be present. Device Location should be ON.
It also reject the device having a private space or more than just one profile if it detects this. It rejects any use of vpn if it succeeds in detecting that. (These checks shows up in this apps activities list)

someone27281 I've been in touch with the HDFC support team for the last two months, requesting support for GrapheneOS. I shared all the details they requested along with the link to attestation compatibility guide and they created a support ticket for me and shared the ticket number, but I haven't received any official confirmation about added support or they changed anything intentionally. However, as you mentioned, it seems to be working fine now, as I checked it today. I'll update if I hear anything official, as that would be great news as we can mention this app to other banks.

Bob world is still not working, i managed to register but while logging in it showing the Play integrity usage notification and saying it detected unusual activity on the device and refuses to login. And I started reaching out to Bob Support at the same time as HDFC regarding the same issue. However, I feel their support team lacks the necessary knowledge to understand my inquiries. They sent me the response below and have since stopped replying. Ill keep sending mails to them to see if they will reply or forward the mail it to their dev team.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for writing to us but bob World mobile banking app is compatible only for either Android OS or iOS due to safety, security and compliance purpose.

I'm a user of the bob World Android banking app. Unfortunately, the app doesn’t work on my device and displays an error message.
It appears that the app is using Google's Play Integrity API to block usage on operating systems that are not certified by Google.
This measure does not improve security, as Google certification of the operating system does not contribute to that. Very old devices with serious, unpatched vulnerabilities still pass these checks, while GrapheneOS, the operating system I use on my device, is on the latest security patch level and meets stringent security requirements.

It is possible for the bob World app to support GrapheneOS while still keeping these checks. Please forward the following guide to your Android development team, which explains what needs to be done:

Update: Paytm formally blocks GrapheneOS now. Shows device modification or root detected right after play integrity notif.

UPDATE:

Both HDFC new app and SBI Card app WORKS as of Feb 21, 2026. Here's my configuration (all options might not be necessary):

Google Play:

Installed

ALL Permissions enabled. Nearby Devices, Location, Physical Activity, Phone, SMS, Marked as recently used by android after registering banking apps. Possibly only needed for registration.

ALL Special permissions enabled. Exploit Protection Compatibility enabled. Possibly only needed for registration.

Secure Spawning DISABLED. (Verified required, even after registration. If you enable it the app will block you until you disable again.) (Annoying...)

Quirks:

SBI Card app requires exploit compatibility protection mode to be OFF. Otherwise it will block. Weird.

Notes:
Both apps does not use Google Play Integrity to do the blocking. So if it doesn't work, keep fiddling. Use only mobile data for registration. Disconnect VPN even from other profiles/private space.
