Use Obtanium with F-Droid as source, or F-Droid itself?

Is it better to use Obtainium with apps from fdroid or to install FDroid and install from there? Some apps seem to only be avaiable from FDroid. An example of an app is SimplyTranslate.
In my experience, FDroid (that I have used for about ten years from LOS with microg) has been very reliable and good. But I understand that FDroid is not very popular with GOS.

los2cos2gos If you are downloading from an F-Droid repository anyway you can use F-Droid Basic. It targets a modern SDK and removes some attack surface and you won't be ddosing F-Droid servers. Also in my experience Obtainium often fails with unattended updates.

On the other hand if you can find the same app on Accrescent, Github (via Obtainium) or Play Store (via Play Store or Aurora Store) you might wanna consider downloading from there instead.

los2cos2gos Function-wise it is almost the same. Same ui. It lacks few exotic functions: a panic button and app sharing via Bluetooth, which I doubt many people use anyway.

Avoid installing directly via F-Droid if you have a second profile, or you won't be allowed to install the same app when you download F-Droid in the second profile and try to install the same app.

Didn't make time to figure out if obtaining F-Droid apps via Obtainium could solve this yet.

Senior the way you are meant to do it to avoid conflicts is to install apps in owner profile, disable them and push them into the user profile where you want to use them.
