How to Conceal Phone Number

Hi All,

I sometimes like to conceal my phone number before calling certain people or organisations. How can I do it on GOS? I followed the general Android instructions on how to do this within the settings of the phone app, but I can't see the way to do this in GOS. Can anybody explain or point me to a site that shows how its done?

PHONE>TOP 3 DOTS>SETTINGS>CALLS>ADDITIONAL SETTINGS>CALLER ID

So long as your carrier permits it the option to Hide number should be available.

Sounds like you're looking for temporary blocking callerid, rather than completely blocking it (what @MetropleX suggested would completely block it until you reverted the setting).

Temporary might depend on your carrier. Mine uses a dialer prefix to block outbound callerid, which is #31#. Your service provider could be different.

Don't trust the Called ID thing. It can be seen easily at the other end if they know what they're doing.
You can use it tho, just don't be sure it will save you. And it's not about your specific carrier.

Figuroz I don't think that ANYBODY will genuinely believe that they are completely unexposed when blocking callerid. OBVIOUSLY your phone company will know your phone number, and they can and do maintain certain call details for when demanded as evidence, and they will certainly forward the callerid details when you connect to registered law enforcement.

But it will effectively block the number from NORMAL people.

If what you are looking for is privacy/anonymous calling you may want to look at MySudo. I don't know if it works ok on GOS but I've been watching/looking into MySudo and I really like what they offer.
