"Download failed" error when updating or installing apps

that's a bummer, would've been a quick fix. Anyway, this error message suggest the SSL certificate(s) is(are) invalid. Which is either because they:
a) expired
b) mismatched

What downloads are we talking here, specifically? From a browser? If yes, which one?

n3t_admin Downloads directly from the pre-installed app store, so an update for vanadium, or any other download on there. It's always the same message

do you also get errors while browsing https sites or does it only affect downloads?

n3t_admin no, just downloads from the app store. I was also able to download an image from a website without issue

Saegle okay, that's a start. First step you could try, would be to reset storage for the App Store. To do that, long press the App Store icon while on the home screen or in the app drawer and click "App Info". You will see a section for "storage" on the page that opens. You can clear cache and clear storage for it. This will basically reset the app store to factory settings, so to speak. Try that and report how it goes. For good measure, I'd reboot the phone after doing that.

n3t_admin Thanks for the steps! Something weird happened tho. I first managed to completely update Vanadium without issue. I thought it was resolved, but then I tried to install another app and the same error appeared again.
I'm also noticing now that the point at which the error occurs during installations seems random. Sometimes it's right away during download, sometimes at higher percents, sometimes even after the download, during the install.

Can you try on a different network (for example on mobile data)?

Also, disable all VPNs if you use any.

n3t_admin different networks, wifi or mobile data, always the same error unfortunately. No VPN either

FWIW, this is beginning to sounding like a hardware problem to me. Maybe some bad RAM???

I have a feeling you would also see this just browsing, eventually, but downloading large files is triggering it more consistently (because of the amount of data).

Saegle I agree with Probably9857 that bad RAM is possible. If you watch a non-short video (10 or 15 minutes), does it play all the way through?
