nohandumo1 I have a problem with GrapheneOS on Pixel 10 Fold.

First of all boot logo is not GrapheneOS logo, its a red colored "Factory" text on a black background. I am not sure what does that means but its not the regular one.

Is it possible to post a picture? You might want to blur out the serial number if there is one.

That seems concerning, though arguably it would be good to hear from Fold owners.

Was the device purchased new?

I'll be real with you, this looks like a poor quality Photoshop, the phone is on an angle but the text doesn't seem to be viewed at the same angle. On the off chance it's not, I would recommend returning this device.

In addition to the incorrect angle already mentioned, there is a soft spot at the device bezel above camera lens and blur of the floor does not match that of the display.

After downloading and adjusting the image (cropping and playing around with details, exposure, and shadows), it is also noticeable that image noise and compression artifacts around “Factory” lettering don't match the display's one.

I therefore agree with unsaltedsanctionsnowdrop and userofgos that this image appears to be manipulated.

Yes, purchased recently.

unsaltedsanctionsnowdrop yeah it looks like it was AI generated. The white bezels around the phone were what set me off, as well as the "Factory" text.

I understand your concern about everything is AI nowadays but it's for real :)

I am also confused about why there is a Factory logo at boot and why e-sim is not working (maybe they are related or maybe not)

Murcielago I have to agree, the image doesnt look real. If I look closely at the screen around the red "Factory" letters, there appears to be small white lines/spots as if "Factory" was intentionally placed over the GrapheneOS boot logo. But thats just my opinion, from what I see in the photo.

Thanks for sharing this video. It looks realistic. Unfortunately, I can't tell you what the "Factory" lettering is about.

But I would like to apologize for the incorrect assumption Murcielago, in which I mistakenly assumed that the image had been manipulated.

nohandumo1 also want to apologize (nandohyphen1 ), the image did look questionable, but the video looks better. At this point, my advice would be since we don't know what is wrong with the phone, I'd return it if possible and just get a new one. I imagine you'll have to reflash stock Android to return it, so you could also reflash it and see if the factory letters appear on stock too.

I can't seem to find the the thread, but a few months ago there was a user who ended up having very similar issues with the red Factory text and also a Chinese bootloader. Iirc @de0u replied to that thread.

Maybe @nohandumo1 it would be worthwhile to navigate to the bootloader and see what appears on screen.

Also, where did you buy the phone from? Retail store, online store, online Marketplace?

I faintly recall that but have not turned it up. I think it was not a 10 and I also think it might not even have been a legit Pixel.

I bought the device from a phone shop. It's not retail. It was in a brand-new box with mostly Chinese descriptions on the box.

I can try to return it, but don't you think it would be cool to investigate it :)

Anyway, even it has GrapheneOs with a red factory boot text, e-sim is not working.
