Pixel 10 - Support for GrapheneOS is now available!

Would there be any problem installing GrapheneOS on a Pixel 10 (Pro) and then keeping it in a drawer powered off, without updating it for months waiting for the official stable release?

How does the following update(s) ultimately work if it jumps multiple versions in this situation, is there a problem or am I totally overthinking it?

There shouldn't be any problems. You will update to the latest release, which contains all changes.

New with a Pixel 10 Pro XL, purchased solely to install GrapheneOS (and also new to this OS).

Everything works for me, and the update versions are, from what I've seen, at the same level.

I should also mention that this is my only phone (my old Samsung is now in a reset state), and I have relied on the GrapheneOS development team for many years and have complete confidence in them. I really doubt that they could make such a mistake that everything would be broken. They surely have serious testing protocols in place.

This is just my opinion. Unfortunately, I am not a developer and I cannot help them (which I regret).

New pixel 10 pro fold, have been unable to get either Wireguard or OpenVPN connections working. They work fine on other devices. (Except WireGuard on a pixel 9 pro fold maybe a different issue though) Anyone else have issues with VPN for this release or is it just me? Need VPN working for services from my home lab server, so stuck at the moment.

Todfloyd yes, you just might have an unexpected crash or two, and I believe some people are having trouble with USB connectivity.

For the price of a 128 GB Pixel 10 Pro, I can buy a 512 GB 8 Pro, but that also means two years less support, so I don't know what to do because the offer is only valid until Monday. That's why I'm “urgent” to know.

I don't believe there is any plan for the Pixel 10 to be different in terms of features or stability. But I don't think the GrapheneOS project is in a position to make a guarantee.

It's possible that GrapheneOS for the Pixel 10 could shift from "experimental" to regularly-supported between now and Monday, but it might not.

Personal experience: USB connectivity can often be restored by messing with 'Default USB configuration' in Developer options.

Somewhereover88 one on one RCS is intermittent for me, it will work for a few days, then it will stop and I have to resend outbound as SMS/MMS. Super annoying.

You can barely hear about half of what I say and what the other person says on regular cellular calls (not using a headset or Bluetooth). Has anyone managed to solve this? I have a problem with GrapheneOS on Pixel 10 Fold.

First of all boot logo is not GrapheneOS logo, its a red colored "Factory" text on a black background. I am not sure what does that means but its not the regular one.

I have installed/enabled Google Play Services but i haven't logged in yet.

I tried to install e-sim but even with a successful installation it cannot connect to the radio. Phone cannot find any network operators.

I am not sure if e-sim connection issue is related to "Factory" text logo.

What is your advice? How can I diagnose the problem and find a solution?

First thing I'd do is run Auditor and see what it says your running, if it an official GrapheneOS build. Keep on mind, if you've never used Auditor on this device, you'll need to verify it twice. This is because the first time you verify it, it will be yellow. This is normal. Audit it a second time to get the real results.

Looks like P10 support is no longer experimental now, according to the releases page. Presumably that's because they resolved the USB bugs. It's been great and stable for a while now, but cool milestone! As always, awesome work by the GOS team.

starglider I was able to work around it by enabling developer options and changing the default USB-C behavior to "file transfer." You can then turn dev options back off, restart, and when you connect a data cable, you'll get the notification that file transfer is enabled. You can then switch it to USB Tethering or whatever else you want.

Obviously, this is not ideal from a security perspective, but as long as you keep the GOS option to disable USB-C when locked, I don't think it's a major security issue.

Just to close the loop here, anyone who followed my advice to do this should now go back in to dev options and reset it to the default, which is "no data transfer." This bug has been squashed by the latest release, and while not horrible, the workaround is still suboptimal from a security perspective.
