FixmePlzz If wiping GrapheneOS off of the device and installing the stock OS does not fix fingerprint-sensor problems, then it is essentially certain that there is a problem with the fingerprint-sensor hardware.

I have read that sometimes it is necessary to run the calibration tool two or three times back-to-back before a calibration is successful. But honestly my suggestion is that you take the device to a repair shop.

de0u I ran it twice and now... IT WORKS! Kinda thrilled to have fixed this issue, but I doubt it will stay like this, but I will update if it stops working again, as for the pressing firmly issue, I enabled screen protector mode and now light touches on the sensor work like in stock OS

I didnt know you had to run the tool twice or thrice, everyone in support channels kept trying to force the idea onto me that its a hardware issue, but you de0u, you fixed this for me

I rebooted 4 times now, fingerprint still working

It sounds like a hardware problem, not a GrapheneOS problem, just like de0u said before:

FixmePlzz sometimes when my fingerprint isn't recognised it's because my finger was wet, sticky, or had oil/grease or the screen had a sticky/grease smear over the sensor. Once I dry, clean my finger or sensor then it works fine. No idea if that might occasionally be the issue for me, but it wouldn't hurt to check.

ITS GONE..... The day i bought the pixel 7 pro could be my biggest screw up ever, Overheating, Battery drain and now... RARE fingerprint issue that seems to only affect me and 5 other people at max

Unfortunately these days phones are made out of hardware, and unfortunately these days hardware breaks. Screens can turn pink or start displaying green lines, touchscreen sensors can fail, CPUs can fail, GPUs can fail, DRAM can fail, flash storage can fail... and also fingerprint sensors. Sometimes the problem is something as simple as a loose cable from the fingerprint sensor to the motherboard.

At this point I'm as confident as I can be that you are experiencing a hardware problem with your fingerprint sensor. I am also fairly confident that the device needs a trip to a repair shop (unless you decide to junk it, which personally I wouldn't recommend at this point).

FixmePlzz In general hardware either fails instantly or symptons gradually get worse. For example i had a lg oled tv which one day turned off by itself out of the blue. 3 weeks later it couldn't stay on longer than 30 mins. Add another 3 weeks and the tv would power itself off after 10 sec consistently. It turned out to be a faulty oled panel.

FixmePlzz How can you be sure it isn't a hardware fault? The fact you mention the problem appearing in stock os points to a hardware problem.

Not a hardware issue, rare firmware issue, the only solution is to run The Fingerprint calibration tool as many times until the fingerprint appears, or 4 times then rebooting and NEVER rebooting again, Now my sensor works fine, Even if my finger is wet, even if i don't press firmly, Not a firmware issue EVER.

Its just a stupid software issus, like fixing an old tv, you have to hit it from the back multiple times until it works, in this case, its rebooting as many times until it works AND stopping there.

yeah... that's a hardware issue. When the fingerprint scanner fails initialization (like POST for BIOS/UEFI systems), it is not recognized by the system, since it's being declared missing.
Good news is - you can replace the scanner standalone without replacing the display.
Hit up a local repair shop, they should be able to give you a quote. Or, if you have some experience with smartphone repairs, you can of course do it yourself.

Yallweird alrdy posted my solution which is to use it multiple times then reboot and NEVER reboot again when your fingerprint returns

I've given up on fingerprint on my 6A and the pixel Tablet, both are useless. I've reset them several times, it works for a while then stops. I just a use a PIN.
