Yallweird alrdy posted my solution which is to use it multiple times then reboot and NEVER reboot again when your fingerprint returns

I've given up on fingerprint on my 6A and the pixel Tablet, both are useless. I've reset them several times, it works for a while then stops. I just a use a PIN.

FixmePlzz because it is. Hardware can fail intermittently. Can depend on many factors, such as a broken flex cable, temperature, conductivity issues, corrosion and so on. There literally can't be a "software" or "firmware" issue like you're describing it. If it was, you would see a flood of reports.

n3t_admin Probably the fingerprint sensor, the denial stage might have gradually passed and there might be a realization that what was thought here, probably is correct. If they want 'it' to work again, a repairshop as already suggested will probably be the best next step, or either just acceptance and proceed further with just a pin/passcode.

r134a By the way I dropped my phone BAD on its face, and guess what? FINGERPRINT IS BACK BABY!

MrQ i think its like 70% chance of being physical isue and 30% software, the pixel 7 pro is a hit or miss, but it dont matter cause my fingerprint is back

FixmePlzz I'm happy that u got it working again, although i suspect this might be temporarely, let's hope not. Perhaps the impact 'fixed' a bad connection on the flex cable or something.

If you have hardware issues, get it checked at a repair shop! This isn't unreasonable, is it?

DeletedUser433 nah. Its not a big problem. And as far as i can see it happens when the phone is warm/its hot outside. Never dropped a phone in my life, and i think i wont start doing that today. Haha.

It goes sometimes but only after reboots, but nowadays it takes less reboots to get it working again
