Camera app keeps crashing

If thats the case then I guess I'll use my phone without a camera for now, because I got this 6a brand new about 4 months ago, so I don't want to buy a new phone already

OK so I tried Open Camera. It worked for like a minute then I tried zooming in and I got the message, 'Serious camera error!' and it crashed. Here's the log

I also just tested Fossify Camera and got the same results - crash and message saying 'serious hardware failure. Camera unusable'

nandohyphen1 I don't think Google has manufactured 6a's for at least a year, maybe two?

de0u I got it from a company called Above Phone with GOS already installed. It was a leftover one they had still.

n3t_admin you were on www.abovephone.com? (not trying to advertise with the website, BTW) I had heard about them from a friend and I like their phones, but yeah, next phone I get is probably going to be from Google or Best Buy.

nandohyphen1 yup, same one. The general recommendation is usually to not buy from shops that don't officially disclose they are running GrapheneOS, but it is okay in that case. Just try to return the phone and get a refund.

Yeah I had heard that and they do seem reputable enough, I'm assuming my phone just had a hardware glitch, possibly even from factory and it just started showing.

Just try to return the phone and get a refund.

That is what I'm going to try and do. :)

Above phone has good customer service, they are pre - authorising me for a new phone, so thats a big plus. :)

With the volume again today, and although it occurs rarely, I wouldn't be surprised if it has to do with the Camera hardware and BT hardware and this phone could just have hardware problems 🤪
