Screen lock stops vidoe playing in Vanadium

If I play a youtube or twitter or any video source I think in Vanadium, after the screen turns off(times out) and after the 5 seconds, that passes for the Screen to lock, the video is stopped. This is rather annoying if I just want to watch a video on the web.

This does not happen with music/video players like BlackPlayer, Foobar2000 and Newpipe.

Is there any way that I can make Vanadium behave like the musicplayers, so that I can view videos without the phone cutting it off all the time?

Max_S Youtube deliberately prevents this to try to get you to sign up to a premium plan. Brave tries to circumvent it.

You can install the Brave Browser which has a setting to allow sound playback when the screen is off. As for Vanadium though, I've never found a way to get Youtube playing while the screen is locked unfortunately.

The behavior I'm looking for is for the browser to keep the screen on, when I'm playing a video (Youtube, twitter, etc), so it doesn't lock up and stop video playback. I distinctly remember this behavior being default on GOS/Vanadium on a Pixel4a. Is this not possible on a Pixel 9a?

Max_S presumably since as it was a Pixel 4a, that was quite a while back. Youtube changed it so you couldn't play videos with the screen locked (even in desktop mode) a year or so ago unfortunately. Not sure about the other sites however.

I believe this has nothing to do with Youtube but with Vanadium. Every tab has its own process, video stops playing the moment this process is taken out of foreground and is cached, i.e. changing tab, swiching to another app, locking the screen.

DeletedUser495 I'm thinking this too. the problem is when playing video in Vanadium, the screen shouldn't time out / go black, but it seems like GraphenOS doesn't recognize that a video is playing and therefore the screen times out and the phone locks after 5 seconds.

Any way to cahange this behavior would be much appreciated.
