AI Apps on Grapheneos. Any recommendations)

I am using ChatGPT through the FDroid app gptAssist (it’s the only way I can get it to work). It works well like this and maintains some privacy.

Grok app also seems to work.

Any other recommendations or wappers out there? Anything other AI systems that are any good?

Brave allows you to use offline LLMs run on Brave servers or Claude through a proxy, though this depends on you trusing Brave to follow their claim of not retaining chats and not tracking personal data (they are stored on your device, so you can see chat history anyway). I do not have the knowledge to verify how private this really is.

For native chatgpt app, try allowing 'Native code Debugging', enabling 'DCL via memory', and blocking 'Play Integrity' in Settings in App info.

I personally don't trust any other company with my request history. In case chatgpt stopped working today, I would switch to something like Perplexity (Apple seems to be interested in them as well). Grok is too inaccurate and Gemini too invasive for my needs. Another option is local LLM, but I don't think an average user would go as far as getting 3k USD PC just to run AI.

Tandara the only thing with ChatGPT is they store all your messages and questions forever. There is no way to delete them even if you delete an account. Using a wrapper and not signing in should be reasonably safe so long as you are careful what information you give. Grok and other only keep for a limited period of time, I believe 12 months

I use Copilot app (subscribed to Microsoft 365), works just fine on GrapheneOS with GS installed.

Gemma 3n: run locally on the phone. You need to install Google Edge Gallery and then you can install Gemma 3n. Once done, you can run it without network permission or in airplane mode. This AI is less efficient than biggest models, but still useful and powerful for its size.

PocketPal AI works great. You can download (small) LLMs and run them offline.

GI1 As of my understanding it's temporary. Though, if you really want to use smth with no identify attached, then there are: Brave Browser AI, duckduckgo ai, and LLM service I saw in Cake Wallet that accepts Monero for paying for Claude, Gpt, and other models.

There is also NanoGPT and Venice. Both offer free models (no registration) in addition to paid ones and claim not to store your conversations. They do not require personal information. If I'm not mistaken they both support crypto payments. NanoGPT is pay-per-query and Venice has flat rate per 30 days. Venice also has PWA (progressive web app) so you can install it on the main screen.
