stupidcreature The phone is not booting after the update nor does it seem to be rolling back to the previous version.

What exactly does happen?

My phone is coming to the GrapheneOS logo, then playing it for a minute or so and then rebooting. It just keeps doing that. My phone rebooted after I started charging it (after the battery went to 0). So sadly no fastboot triangle, no nothing. Can't even enter recovery mode (when I stop the phone during the "Your phone is running an alternative os" sign it only prompts me to continue booting, not enter) smh so no clue how to sideload with this.

To update again, you will need to wait for a new release, you can't rollback. However, keep in mind the update may take a bit too boot.

Does the phone boot into fastboot? If so, what color is the fastboot triangle?

Does it show the GOS logo? Then you should wait a bit, took me a few minutes personally on my 6a to boot. This can happen with updates here and there. After the first boot, it will go back to normal boot times.

You could also try sideloading the update again.

To get into fastboot mode thence Recovery it is necessary to keep the volume-down button pressed while powering it on. The power-button-to-pause option appears after the bootloader has decided not to do fastboot mode.

Yes I have tried this, it works on every other device I have tested without issue.

I have the auto reboot timer set very low, so it usually reboots every day and I have only observed this issue immediately after the two mentioned updates. I just tried some reboot cycles and i can't get it to reoccur. However, if i disable e-sim support it always disables the physical sim card ever since the update version referenced in the original post i linked.

It is quite an old sim card (6+ years easily) but given it works on other devices and also works on this device except right after these certain updates, it does not seem like the sim has degraded. Perhaps it could be due to a standards change at some point on the sim format years ago...? I am unfamiliar with the sim format and any internal changes in it.

hubblehead Given the age of the SIM and the absence of other similar reports my confidence is 72.8% that a new SIM will resolve the issue. I realize that's below 95%, but most carriers are very willing to replace a SIM that old.

In beta everything worked as expected. No simcard problems, no APP malfunction. Just something funny happened while on a call inside whatsapp. When in a call the device simply shut down the phone completely. Complete shiutdown in the middle of a whatsapp call. I couldnt get the logs. Hapoened on pixel9 pro xl. Is there anyway to recovery the logs? Which log file should log this?

What "remove Circle to Search feature declaration" is for? Does it mean they are shipping/planning CTS to AOSP now? (or add the ability to implement your own).

Tandara it was always a setting, I imagine its due to the animation rule changes.

Tandara I believe Google shipped the setting toggle but not the CTS code to AOSP (this sometimes happens). And I believe in turn that the discrepancy led people to ask why enabling the setting didn't do anything. Removing the setting removes the discrepancy.
