AccJustForThat It feels like the last updates don't change anything at all.
Not true at all. Please see https://grapheneos.org/releases for a detailed changelog about what changes with every release.
AccJustForThat Gallery still crap, can't delete albums.
The Gallery app will be replaced with a better one. We've started work on replacing/modernizing the AOSP app, starting with the messaging app which has already had an under-the-hood overhaul.
AccJustForThat Screen Recordings are not shown in Gallery or Google Photo, and also the recordings hang for the first 3-5 secs in picture when playing.
Cannot reproduce that. Is that consistent? Are you sure you've given access to the folder where the screen recordings are stored?
AccJustForThat I had a problem where my audio permanent switches from stereo to mono and back, no matter what sound-source. A Reboot fixed it.
That sounds like it might be a hardware problem. We haven't had any reports like this to my knowledge. Was that the case ever since you got your device?
AccJustForThat Adaptive charging is sill not supported? On original Google OS I can choose something like "smart charging" to keep the device healthy.
GrapheneOS supports setting a charge limit to 80%. On top of that, when you're charging your phone, charging does slow down as you're approaching a full charge, similar to how adaptive charging does. The feature you're referring to is proprietary.
AccJustForThat Many other Google Pixel features are still missing. That's pretty misfortune, because this OS is exactly for expensive pixel devices.
We implement what we can - you'll see that support for this kind of thing has expanded with time, such as our support for using Android Auto in a sandboxed way while only providing the bare minimum access required for it to work. GrapheneOS uses Pixel devices because they're the devices meeting our hardware requirements. There shouldn't be an expectation that we're a clone of the stock OS, though we strive for feature parity when possible, and at a pace that resources allow.
AccJustForThat I need to reboot my device pretty often because of "Updates available" and a long period of "optimizing apps" but I don't know if anything is changed or improved at all.
On that point, again, please check our releases page on our website, or the Info app. We meticulously maintain a changelog so that people who want to follow along, can.
AccJustForThat Besides of the updates a daily - weekly reboot is required to tape-fix all the little hiccups in the system.
This isn't at all normal - not just needing to reboot, but the "hiccups" you're talking about. I mentioned above that there might be hardware issues at play here, and this makes me thing that might be the case even more. Did you use the stock OS on that device at all, or did you flash GrapheneOS right away? If you used stock, how long did you use it for, and did you notice any issues on it?
AccJustForThat I also had 1 or 2 "no reaction anymore until I auto -reboot" crashes.
Also not something our users typically experience.
AccJustForThat Definitely the developer have still a long way to go.
We absolutely have a long way to go - in the sense that there are still many features and improvements that we want to implement.
