Very slow charging on P9

P9p here noticed similar behavoir with charging at a much slower rate than usual.

There are currently 3 similar reports of people with 9 series pixels 9 and 9 pro (xl) on the chat channel alpha/beta testing.

I myself started noticing 2 days ago on stable, i just this night updated to 2025062000, so i'm assuming it is not related to 2025062000 specifically, but perhaps with an update before that.

P9P xl here, lastest firmware. battery atm is sitting at 36% plugged it in and I see its pulling 33 watts

I'm experiencing the same issue over the past few days. My phone always charged fast until a few days ago. I'm using a Pixel 9 Pro Fold, with the latest Stable channel update. My battery is at 300 charge cycles. I have a high-quality brand charger and my phone is charging really slowly over the past few days, I used a dongle to check how many watts it was pulling, it shows 2-4watts when in use. Restarting the phone fixes the issue, it jumps straight to 10-15 watts, but as soon as i start using the phone it quickly falls down to 2-4watts. I have a strong feeling it's related to the high temperatures, in the past few days my zone is experiencing 40°C. I will do more tests and report back later.

That's pretty hot.

Does the charge rate change if you place the phone on something cool such as a freezer cold pack?

GOS devs should take a look at this.

1) P9PF is charging at 1-2 watts.
2) I turn off/restart the phone.
3) It insta jumps to 12-14 watts.
4) I let it sit for a few minutes just to see if it stays there.
5) It's still at 12-14~ watts.
6) I turn on the phone.
7) Starts dropping watts.
8) After 2 minutes, it's already back at 3-4 watts.

The phone is NOT warm. My room is not that hot. No app is opened besides VPN running in the background (like i've always used).

I've tested this 3 times, always same result, as soon as i turn off or restart, the charging watts jump to 14 watts, then once i turn it on it starts dropping quickly. Seems to be software related.

I'm having a similar issue on a brand new P9a running lates GOS. In my case the charging seems stuck around 6 to 7 Watts at 9V. However, if I power off the phone it immediately jumps to full 23 Watts. I've tried turning off usb-c security and other charging related settings, safe mode, multiple reboots. Nothing works except power off. This is 6 Watts measured at the charge port so if I'm using the phone while it's charging it's barely charging at all.

de0u of course, multiple chargers and powerbanks, the effect is always the same. Other devices charge normally with these chargers.
