BankID stopped working, possibly after version 4.7.7

I have the same problem, kind of, but a login attempt in a desktop browser gives me the error code BID-2033 all the time (which is described as a communications error in that list you mentioned, that should be caused by a bad data connection), so dunno what that’s about, my connection on both wifi and 4G is good.
I tried removing cache and things, giving it all permissions and enabling Exploit protection compatibly mode first, uninstalled/re-installed the BankID app, and now it just crashes upon trying to open the app at all so I can enter my credentials, but no go, just crash upon crash.
Maybe try installing an earlier version? Haven’t tried that. Or wait for an update and use the banking code thingy meanwhile?

DeletedUser370 I noticed the same thing with the link Norvax posted. It directs to version 4.7.6 on Play Store in a browser, but through Play Store I get 4.7.7. I'm in Sweden tho, so not sure if that makes a difference, apparently haakon gets the 4.7.7 version too. I tried to install 4.7.6 through Aurora after uninstalling the app (4.7.7), but then I get a message saying it cannot install an app of an older version than the current.

Are you using a beta version of the app, since you're on version 4.7.7? I installed the app an hour ago and Play Store served me version 4.7.6, and I registered with a passport successfully. If you're signed up for beta versions, you could try opting out of them and then reinstalling the app. It sounds a lot like an app bug.

haakon I also get the GmsCompat pop-up saying the app used the Play Integrity API.

Not new. BankID has used the Play Integrity API forever. You just didn't notice the notification until now. :-)

DeletedUser370 I'm not enrolled in any betas on the play store but I deleted the app and installed through Aurora store where it installed ver 4.7.6 and now works. When I try to install through the google play store it kept installing version 4.7.7 perhaps due to my play store region being UK?

ujjayi Good idea about Aurora! I uninstalled BankID, then installed Aurora, and then installed BankID from there. It still has 4.7.6. It seems to work, but I need to wait the mandatory one hour for it to activate.

That means 4.7.7 is still installed on the device. Check all your user profiles, you probably have to uninstall it from one of them.

haakon I'm not having much luck with that. Aurora still says it cannot downgrade (cleared cache and all and uninstalled the one from Play Store first). Did you do anything else than what says in that last post to make it work?

EDIT: Tried a reboot also, no way Aurora will install 4.7.6, hehe
EDIT 2: Got the apk from Aurora and tried installing through the file manager/package installer but says the file isn't valid. I'll just wait then roflmao etc

I'm not seeing an update to 4.7.7 even when opted into BankID's beta program in Play Store. Maybe it's a version they pulled from the store because of major breakage.

4.7.7 is not working for me either. Aurora store is stuck on 4.7.7 for me on 2 devices. Not in any beta. Though I see you can manually type in what version to download.
Does anyone know the version code for a previous version?

Now I'm stuck in a difficult position. Do I delete the app and download 4.7.6, then set everything up again. Or do I wait for a update to see if it gets fixed. If it's fucked forever going forward and them not keeping outdated versions of the app for long either...

I tried to download 4.7.7 on an Asus Zenfone and it worked without crashing anyway, unlike on my GOS phone. So I'm wondering if the crashes could be cos it was still in my private space on the GOS phone earlier, or if it's some compatibility issue with GOS. I'm keeping the merged split-apk (4.7.6) from Aurora on my phone anyway.

I can confirm that downgrading to 4.7.6 worked, I was able to log into my bank.

Come to think of it, the problem with not being able to install 4.7.6 in the main profile due to it saying I couldn’t downgrade must indicate I had 4.7.7 in my private space, while having 4.7.7 in the main profile also, and it just didn’t work (first getting the error codes, then constant crashes after reinstall), so yea, maybe a little concerning, considering the Asus phone seems to have no problem with the 4.7.7 version

Ok, I managed to update to 4.7.7 by setting the system language to Norwegian (correlation?). This is my crash log:

Yeah, I just gave in, so I'm setting up 4.7.6 now.

I've actually been using the dongle more than the app. Can't be bothered changing to a different user just to use the app(with many steps between).
