The American express app is still requesting that I give the Play store access to "Phone" for the app to work properly. Was this update supposed to fix this?

n2gwtl No, that's not related to these changes and is how it would behave on the stock OS if you revoked the Phone permission from Play services.

I suspect a “presentation error”, but this writing I have seen since I switched to GOS (March 2023).

I guess, the right writing should be:
g5300i-241205-250127-B-12973597

But I am no developer / person at GOS, it's just my guessing. ;-)

I have auto updates turned on in the main profile, however, my devices doesn't seem to download the latest software unless I select check for updates (please note I only use stable and I keep an eye out for when releases are on that channel, as per the link provided by GOS)

Check if you picked any conditions preventing it, e.g. battery above warning level, requiring the device to be charging, permitted networks...

Also, the check for updates happens every 4 hours.

thanks, I've checked the owner profile and the update has download (good stuff), however, the auto install when idle wasn't applied, I guessing this was my "issue".

I have had this feature turned on, on previous set ups (same device) and had incurred the same "problem", but I've recently reset the unit, so might be different result. Thanks again

I was finally able to install the pro version of the graphing cauculator I purchaced years ago, Play Store used to block me from installing it. Thank you!

disable anti-competitive code being injected by the Play Store into apps choosing to enable "App integrity > Automatic protection" when there's a valid Play Store source stamp signature (proving that it's an unmodified app from the Play Store, so we aren't disabling an integrity check) since it prevents using the apps on GrapheneOS when apps also choose to enable "App integrity > Store listing visibility" with either the "Device integrity checks" or "Strong integrity checks" values enforcing having a device licensing Google Mobile Services and running the stock OS (circumventing this is protected by the DMCA exemption for jailbreaking)!<
