"Disable anti-competitive code injected by the Play Store into apps choose to enable "App Integrity > Automatic Protection" when there is a valid Play Store source stamp signature (proving it is an unmodified app from the Play Store, So we're not disabling an integrity check) since it prevents apps from being used on GrapheneOS when apps also choose to enable "App integrity > Store listing visibility" with the values "Device integrity checks" or "Strong integrity checks" which require having a device with a Google Mobile Services license and running the stored operating system (bypassing this rule is protected by the DMCA exemption for jailbreaking)."

Stewart No, it happens automatically.

Apps that were using the "automatic protection" feature from the Google Play console to prevent running an app not installed from Play Store will now work.

This is relevant because some apps prevented the app from working when sideloaded or installed via e.g. Aurora Store while also forbidding any non-stock OS from installing the app from Play Store itself. Previously, people had no choice.

Ebay is an example of this, which now works fine if installed via Aurora Store or sideloaded.

rpupkin It might be a DNS setting, since it works on mobile connection, but not WiFi. Try Quad9 DNS to see if it resolves your issue. Go to settings --> Network --> Private DNS: And paste this into the field: dns.quad9.net

It might also be MAC related, click on the settings-icon on your WiFi (in the available WiFi list), click on Privacy and:
"Use per-connection randomized MAC (default)", change to "per-network"

rpupkin I suggest you start new thread, something in your network config is misbehaving. No issues on wifi here at all

Panda-na Unfortunately, that did not help.

jackFang I did.. Looks like the problem might be related to my using a static IP address instead of the default DHCP.

Good stuff with regards to getting apps to work with this App integration poop from Google. I just hope it will not become cat and mouse game with google blocking it again in response

The American express app is still requesting that I give the Play store access to "Phone" for the app to work properly. Was this update supposed to fix this?

n2gwtl No, that's not related to these changes and is how it would behave on the stock OS if you revoked the Phone permission from Play services.

I suspect a “presentation error”, but this writing I have seen since I switched to GOS (March 2023).

I guess, the right writing should be:

But I am no developer / person at GOS, it's just my guessing. ;-)

I have auto updates turned on in the main profile, however, my devices doesn't seem to download the latest software unless I select check for updates (please note I only use stable and I keep an eye out for when releases are on that channel, as per the link provided by GOS)

Check if you picked any conditions preventing it, e.g. battery above warning level, requiring the device to be charging, permitted networks...

Also, the check for updates happens every 4 hours.

thanks, I've checked the owner profile and the update has download (good stuff), however, the auto install when idle wasn't applied, I guessing this was my "issue".

I have had this feature turned on, on previous set ups (same device) and had incurred the same "problem", but I've recently reset the unit, so might be different result. Thanks again
