there is higher possibility that they bundled some "SECURITY" check that forcibly terminates the app.

We are all having the same problem and I have no/little hope that It'll get fixed because we're small in number and It is a government developed app.

I have written them mail, with bug report, screen recording and Introduced them to Hardware Attestation, In case they didn't know.

I suggest you and everyone else having this problem must write to them.

I wonder If anything can be done on GOS part.

It was the best compared to alt for privacy. let's hope for the best.

I tried but they just sent me default reply saying send screenshot and what not, not realizing what was I asking them.

There is a similar issue with the maadhaar app too. I get a notification that it’s accessing the play integrity check API, but then it says something to the tune of “there was a problem”, and then crashes.

Unfortunately, that app is the only discernible way to lock/unlock biometrics. If these two get fixed, I can completely move to GOS as my daily driver. 🤞

Hopefully BHIM starts working again... I absolutely hate PhonePe but I'm compelled to use it.

Suggestion: if ur bank app offers UPI payments may be use it. Since banks already have records of our transactions.

It works well i think. But they collect too much and share too much. Have you started receiving more spam calls after signing up on phonepe?

DeletedUser285 phonepe works with zero issues for me on Secondary profile with play services installed. I've not received any spam from them, I use it with required minimum permissions.

sheshoe That sounds good! I don't think they make spam calls, but they say they share personal user data with 3rd party sellers and advertisers. Thought that's how spam calls might've happened.

Well, perhaps I'll wait till the next BHIM update.
If things change, then stick with it, I shall. If not, then to PhonePe, I will move.

sheshoe do anyone gets a play integrity API used notification from BHIM? I tried it with a play service available profile, and the app closes without any integrity check notification.

I do not think BHIM uses play integrity, but some hacks to detect and block GrapheneOS explicitly. If yes, it should be found out.

BHIM 4.0.3 is here and issue with it persists.

I had written them a mail and today they replied me with this —

We regret to inform you that we are unable to complete your registration on the application, as your device does not meet the security standards mandated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
For your safety and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, we request you to attempt registration using a different device that adheres to the necessary security parameters.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

For the moment I have moved to 4.0.1 which is working fine. I'll keep using It until It completely gives up.

edit: I don't understand why they're not making their app 'BharatOS' compatible ;)

frenchfries 4.0.1 is working, thanks for the idea. Sad they won't allow newer versions :(

@frenchfries @foss338 May I please know how did you guys roll back to version 4.0.1? I'm stuck on version 4.0.3 and coudnt figure out how to roll back to previous version. BTW..APK is not available anywhere neither I think it is safe to download banking apps from third-party APK sites like APKMirror etc. Does Aurora Store has older versions avaiable? Appreciate your help on this. Thanks!

Ok I installed BHIM v4.0.1 from Aurora Store by using "Manual Download" method and BHIM is now back to work again. For future people looking for version code use "253000067"

someone27281 BHIM is region locked on the play store...so it may be a bit of s hassle for outsiders to tinker with it.

Checked the new version 4.0.4, and it is behaving same as 4.0.3. Will advise sticking to 4.0.1 for now.

Hi I had been on Grapheneos for about a year on my Pixel 7a until BHIM stopped working a few months back. This was my single UPI app, and though I do not use any banking apps on my phones, I was always very comfortable with BHIM with no ads and a clean interface. I moved back to stock Android. Now I found this forum where some of you have been using BHIM 4.0.1 successfully. I would like to know how older versions of BHIM can be safely downloaded. Any help is welcome. Thanks in advance.

Sadly, with a little bit of trial and error, I downloaded BHIM 4.0.1 from Aurora store, but even that is not getting registered, same way as 4.0.4. Version 3.7.4 is being stopped from registration being too old.

I was reinstalling bhim on another graphene, now they check if the app version is latest or not.

So no new signups gonna happen.
