Rand-Uzer spring-onion ok, seems to have completed all the commands you gave me in your last post so what now?
de0u Rand-Uzer If flash-all worked, then the directions on the web page say "Then, proceed to locking the bootloader...".
spring-onion fastboot flashing lock That's the command, confirm the action on the phone and you're done. You can then boot into GrapheneOS and verify the integrity of the operating system, for example via the included Auditor app.
Rand-Uzer spring-onion SUCCESS ... Thank you so much everyone who helped in particular spring-onion for going above and beyond in helping me.
Rand-Uzer spring-onion I really can't thank you enough, took 5 hours from when i first started, so much for YT vids from David Bombal and Naomi Brockwell and there 8 minutes lol great channels but ... that wasn't remotely true for me. Are you a Graphene Dev or a super user? You have uber skills the last post of commands you supplied got me over the line :)
spring-onion I just have plenty of experience with helping people troubleshoot installation problems, I've seen it all.
GrapheneOS @secrec Fastboot does not require root access. It requires having udev rules to use it as non-root which is covered in the install guide. The issue is either that they skipped the instructions about udev rules or are trying to use a Snap for Brave / Chromium that's unable to access USB without special configuration due to being improperly turned into a Snap without accounting for WebUSB. Snap lacks a way to actually request access to a USB device or even USB in general so there's no way for the application to handle it. Users should not have to run CLI commands to grant access. It's a broken approach. It's why we tell people not to use a Chromium Snap.
secrec GrapheneOS Yes that is an alternative, but its over the top to do the udev rules just to install grapheneOS. Far far simpler just to run fastboot as root.
Rand-Uzer GrapheneOS I installed Brave via CLI not a Flat or Snap and still had problems. The alternative commands that spring-onion supplied got me over the line.
