Hey guys! I like CarbonOS generally, but the bundled camera app comes out blurry most of the time & seems not very great. Is there a better app I can get? Or a safe way to download & contain the Pixel camera app itself so Google doesn't get to snoop? I would honestly prefer the first option. Phone is Pixel 8a.

If you are referring to GrapheneOS and its bundled camera, and want a different camera app I recommend the Pixel Camera app from Google and disallow network permission, it will effectively block all internet connections, even sample videos will not load.
The Pixel camera has more options under the "Pro" setting from within the camera app itself, there you may be able to change the resolution to a higher one depending on your phone model, the lower resolutions will allow for pixel binning in the process, which may be handy for more light sensitivity like with night photography.
They're both very good camera apps, but the Pixel Camera may have more options.
Make sure "special access to hardware accelerators for Google apps" is activated (it is by default) under special app settings in the GrapheneOS settings menu.

Pocketstar Thanks a lot! You say the bundled camera is very good? It looks nice, but I really didn't like the quality. It seemed low res and hard to focus. Is there a way to fix it in settings without needing Pixel Camera?

My apologies for the late reply.
Well, I noticed I could toggle between 12MP and 50MP (MP means MegaPixels, but you probably already knew that) in the Pixel Camera app by going to the "pro" settings, I have not noticed that setting in the GrapheneOS camera app, but I could be missing something.
I have also not seen that setting in any other camera app as well.
However, it will turn off pixel binning. (Pixel binning will effectively combine four pixels into one, hence the lower resolution, but it will improve upon the light sensitivity)
I really like toggling between those settings and put it to 50MP when there is proper lighting like at day.
However, I am not aware of any solution outside the Pixel camera app to enable this option.
