Switch from F-Droid to Droid-ify or NeoStore for auto updates
- Edited
sebastianha Both apps use the same repositories, so you won't lose your app data and you can continue using your apps and not have to re-install them.
On a sidenote, while that is an issue with F-Droid, there are also many other issues with it:
Thanks for the answer.
I know that there are more issues with F-Droid but this would be a reason to switch to Droid-ify or NeoStore as this is a direct benefit. All other issues are more F-Droid repo concept related and not with the app itself.

F-Droid Basic can auto-update apps
You can find it on PrivSec.dev: https://privsec.dev/posts/android/f-droid-security-issues/
Not only F-Droid Basic, but also normal F-Droid client has unattended updates now: https://f-droid.org/2024/02/01/twif.html
Very nice! Is there any reason to use F-Droid Basic then?
TheGodfather thanks for both of your comments GodFather, very helpful!
TheGodfather Weird, I can't seem to get F-Droid to do unattended updates currently. Any advice?
Kathlyn2 Seems to be caused by sensors permission, it should be fixed in next F-Droid release: https://discuss.privacyguides.net/t/f-droid-unattended-updates-no-longer-working-on-grapheneos/20240/4
